^what took you to Norway?

The Hives - Tyrannosaurus Hives

No Fun At All - Out Of Bounds

59 Times The Pain - 20% Of My Hand

I love these three bands. I have only had the pleasure of catching The Hives live which was fantastic. I am still keeping my fingers crossed for a No Fun At All / Satanic Surfers tour in the states. I may just need to fly out to a festival one of these days.

Beside my own (broke up) band, there's only three good/known bands from my homestown Aachen, Germany:

- Parajubu (broke up)
- FJØRT (a friend of mine is the drummer...pretty hyped band in Germany at the moment)

- Sebastian Sturm (Reggea, two friends of mine play in that band...not that popular in Germany, but fill huge venues in France)

Bloomington, Indiana

husband&wife

The Phoenix Rising (they're from Brazil, IN I believe, but Bloomington was fucking tiny until the expansions in the last decade or so)

Haste the Day (Indianapolis)

Zero Boys (Indianapolis)

Sloppy Seconds (Indianapolis)

A lot of people like Murder By Death, always gets brought up when I travel, but I can't fucking stand that band.

Richmond, VA

Conditions - Full of War

Scarlet - This Was Always Meant To Fall Apart

Engine Down - Demure

Windhand - Soma

Cough - Ritual Abuse

Shy, Low - Hiraeth

Asleep At The Bottom Of The Sea - Demo

Man, I don't know how you can rep Richmond and not give a nod to Pg.99.

Here's my list for Pittsburgh, PA. Most of these are smaller bands, many that I played shows with, most that I was friends with, almost none that went anywhere significant, and all of whom helped define the "Steel City Sound" for me:

Run, Forever - The Devil & Death & Me

In The Wake Of Giants - Forever

Old Accusers - Of And Beyond

Pray For Teeth - I'm Still Finding Feathers In My Hair

Girlfight - Infinite Carcass

Worn Out Tigers - S/T

Cause they are from Sterling / NoVA.

Well, that explains it...haha. I thought they were Richmond boys.

Only band on your list I've ever given much time to was Scarlet, but holy hell, was I into that record back when it came out.

Do you know what that album is about? Cause the background is crazy. (I toured with Brandon's next outfit Conditions.)

I'd love to see more links to some of these bands. I'm a big supporter of local music. Whenever I'm at a record store in another state, I love looking through the local section and talking to the employees about their favorite local bands.  I always make sure to pick up an album or two and I've found some really cool stuff I would have never heard of otherwise.

Here's my list for SLC

Eagle Twin - The Feather Tipped The Serpent's Scale

Desert Noises - 27 Ways

Jay William Henderson - The Sun Will Burn Our Eyes

Subrosa - More Constant Than The Gods

Albino Father - Age

YEYEY - The Vision

Quiet House - Quiet House

Baby Ghosts -  Maybe Ghosts

Joshua James - Build Me This

Bat Manors - Literally Weird
