crime
True. Maple Leaf fans are the most annoying stupid fans in the league. They bitch that nothing changes with their team, meanwhile they sell out every game. Stop going to the games and things will change real quick. mcm1610
The anti-Hamilton thing was as much if not more due to Buffalo than it was Toronto. The league understands that Buffalo is kind of a fragile area and wants to protect the franchise that it saved when Adelphia was imploding in the late '90s and the league owned the team. crime
Hamilton couldn't actually support and NHL franchise right away anyways. The idea of putting an NHL team in Copps Collesium (where they were proposing putting them) is a joke.
companyinkrecs
" Caps announce they've signed Mike Green to a three-year deal worth $18.25 million." this is madness.
Snaggle Von Swift
a little late on the topic... but holmgren says he's "happy with what he did this offseason"? Sounds about right, dude is a moron.
Snaggle Von Swift
Darren Dreger : Breaking: Shea Weber agrees to offer sheet with Philadelphia. 14 years, upwards of $100 mil. Preds have 7 days to match. Wow!! Holy Shit
crime
Stupid move by Philly. That's far too much money for to lock up on a defenseman who's name isn't Lindstrom.
Snaggle Von Swift
The offer sheet had to be a little over the top though if you want the guy that bad, have to make it so Nashville won't match.
mcm1610
I saw this earlier. Crazy, they're going to owe their future drafts for sure. I guess Weber was pretty shocked Suter didn't return to Nashville, so he might have done this as a "if we're gonna suck, you better pay me" statement. Snaggle Von Swift
Rumors the Flyers have a strong offer out to Shane Doan too.
mcm1610
I've read some doubt that it's the Flyers.. that 4 year 30 million deal from "a team in the east" but who knows.
kylekrische
The Weber deal is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Rumours are Philly loses 4 first round picks or 2 first round, a second and a third. But it is Philly so I hope they do it because with Bryzgalov in net they'll never win anything and they'll completely fuck the future of their team. mcm1610
Yea, I'm perfectly content to see Philly fuck its future for one player. There's people here in Buffalo that still say Regier should've let Thomas Vanek end up in Edmonton and take their 4 1st rounders, and they're serious. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
it was Coultier and one of the Schenns and prospects for Weber... or... 4 1st rd picks. losing the 4 1st rd picks is a lesser risk than trading off 2+ NHL players and upper prospects for him. Also, Nashville could trade any of the 1st rd picks back to philly for players... either way, Weber is going to Philly, and even by having their hands forced, losing those (more than likely) late round picks is a less of a risk than players who have made an impact already on the team. fuck the flyers regardless. kylekrische
This is also strategy for Weber. He's setting the bar early for what he's worth and what he's going to want, signing an offer sheet only works in his favour and shows Philly is as nuts as the rumours have made them seem. Four 1st rounds would be best for Philly because those are deep first round picks but I can't see a trade without a name going to Nashville too. Plus, Philly has an offer in on Nash as well still and right now they just might be the only team crazy enough to give Columbus what they want. Philly calls the shots here though, if a player goes in the spot of one or more of the draft picks, it will be on Philly's terms, not like Nashville can say "we want so & so or this doesn't happen" I love the move, four (probably) late first round picks for Weber, it definitely means the end of Pronger, but is also a great replacement. mymirrorspeaks
I kinda feel bad for Nashville if Weber leaves. That's a loss of Radulov, Suter and Weber this summer and pretty much takes them out of immediate contention. Actually as a Kings fan this isn't a bad thing. Takes a good team of the west race. Snaggle Von Swift
Wonder what goes through Pekka Rinne's head.
kylekrische
Well, at least they lost Radulov. That's a plus. Such a bummer that Rinne is going to waste so much potential there.

Snaggle Von Swift
Howson just fucked up, badly. There is no way he didn't have better offers, and played the waiting game after severely overvaluing. NYR just made out like fucking bandits. (they also get a 3rd round and a minor league dman)
blanchardoswald
Howson is the worst GM in the league by far.
