lexicondevil
I wonder if they will do an exclusive for other states? That would be funny. I can't believe I bought this goddamn expensive record.

jhulud
Just looked through the full list of indie store variants and this is just excessive. I mean, hey...if you're able to afford to get all 12 plus the others (10C, RSD, regular indie store) more power to you. I'm OK with the 10C I have pre-ordered and hopefully will snag the RSD one that day. If I make it out of the house.
highfives
I love how the Newbury version is $60.
njpunkmusic
Still cheaper to buy all 12 variants than one ticket for their MSG show... burnthealbum
jhulud
I am not hating Dark Matter. Some folks are bitching and moaning that it sounds too polished and shiny. I'm kinda feeling the opposite. It feels leaner and more guitar-driven record with some nice and tasty riffs going on. And Ament's basslines are just sweet sweet on some of the songs. But I do feel there's a bit of an inconsistency on where the record wants to go. Does it want to rock out more like Vs. and Vitalogy or get more melodic & soft like Lightning Bolt and even the Into The Wild soundtrack? In any event...I'm enjoying it a lot more than LB and even Gigaton.
DC1221
This is their best album since maybe Avocado? I'm really enjoying it.
jesse
Yeah - I like it. I like all their albums. The production doesn't bother me on this so much, I think mature bands become audiophiles as they get older and don't tolerate some of the rawness that fans connect to on earlier records. I think this album is missing two songs where Eddie just sounds really angry. I think his snarl has been missing for a bit. Running is a great opportunity for just some real primal screaming, but he doesn't go there. There is a bit of a Pink Floyd with more tempo feel to this. EDIT - And you're right @jhulud some outstanding rhythm section work being done. Edited April 21 by jesse
jhulud
10C need to fuckin’ stop using Mail Innovations. I live in West Palm Beach, FL. My Dark Matter LP has gone: Fife, WA > Seattle, WA > Fife, WA > Orlando, FL > Jacksonville, WA > Carolina, PR (PUERTO RICO!!!)… And tracking says it’s supposed to arrive today by 7pm. It’s almost 8pm FUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!
simple_torture
I don’t know if it’s the same for everyone, but in the past, the estimated arrival date on Mail Innovations has always ended up being the day my package arrived at the local post office, not the day it arrives at my door—usually, it’s the day after. But I have also had the ping-pong thing where it ends up moving away from me before actually arriving.
