kylet
So I just spent $350 dollars on a copy of Saves the Day - I'm Sorry I'm Leaving 7in Red 1/12 My birthday is coming up. I told myself I'd choke up the money and buy myself one this year. When i saw that a red copy was on ebay I had to buy it. Anyway you look at it.....$350 dollars is a lot of fucking money.... Anybody else ever spend this much?

mcm1610
There was one point I was rolling around in money and bought Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon for ~300 or so. I probably wouldn't do that again, but I'm not upset that I did.

geezfools
I spent $200 on a first press gaslight anthem sink or swim on black. I got my money back when I sold it and it was a great record and helped me complete a collection. No regrets or anything. Not sure if I'd spend that kind of money again, but like previously mentioned, I had the funds and it worked out.
mcm1610
I'd say I've made 3 really bad, impulsive purchases. That BN was one of them, and another is an ETID test press, but it completed my collection (minus the new stuff and that damn numbered Hex comp)

Duff
$30. i try not to spend more than $25 on anything, especially stuff on ebay. part of the thrill for me is getting stuff on the cheap side. where's the fun if you pay $100+ for a record. my philosophy has worked well, as my wants have whittled down significantly and i'm saving a good sum on money in the process as well. mcm1610
My thought process was... "If I spend $300 now, rather than $30 in 10 years, that $270 difference will be my "rent' for enjoying it the extra 10 years."
seafoamgreen
In my heyday, I would bid on things just to get them into My eBay because I was watching the maximum number of items already (then 100). So I bid $1,032 on a set of all 4 pressings of the second Minor Threat 7", figuring I'd be outbid. I wasn't. I paid. And I have all 4 pressings of the second Minor Threat 7"! Luckily I had the money so I didn't freak. But boy, did I learn my lesson...
theambulancereview
$150 on a test press.
mrc
Top 3 highest paid records for me: 1 - Steinways - aotu 7" test #2/3 - for $125 2 - Steinways - Rotten Pizza pack #14/15 - for $100 3 - Less Than Jake - Pie Tin $90 (but this has 7x 7"s so really i only paid 12 bucks per record) Besides a few other tests, nothing has really gone over about 30-40 bucks. Most of my bigger records have been traded for, and i have been extremely lucky finding some rare things for super cheap. I thought there was never going to be a day i would spend 100 on a record, it happened. Im glad i splurged on a few of those tests.
slinch
Around $530 for a 7", and 4 or 5 records that were over $200.
mrc
If you are saying i spent X amount, please put what record you bought for that insane amount.
240jw
I spent about $240 on Alkaline Trio's Sundials about a year ago. It was a birthday present to myself.. I've spent > $90 on a few others
rtw88
$45 ppd for the Post Marked Stamps box set and the guy sent it priority. So I pretty much paid $35 for the box, and since it's 10 records that's $3.50 a record, so not bad.
monk0nuggets
I spent $130 on my copy of Converge's "Jane Doe" on clear. It's in absolutely perfect condition and don't regret it at all.
konk
I spent a little over $150 for an orange MICF back in 2005, when I had some graduation money. Now fraziermart is trying to sell it for $80, so it's probably worth about $40.
xxmartinxx
The amount I've spent the most on a record is less than the most I've sold a record for. So I'm doing ok.

Guest kissthesharks
$100 for Jane Doe on black, $90 for De-loused in the Comatorium, and then $60 for In Casino Out. I've turned into the guy who won't pay over $30 nowdays, unless it's really important. I have Baroness First and Second on my watch list, I hope it doesn't get too nuts...
