kyleserlington Posted June 23, 2010 Share Posted June 23, 2010 i've been thinkin about doin this lately, it'd be easier to pinpoint what records i have when i'm in a certain mood to listen to something. i could easily separate my Country and Classic Rock records, but my collection is mostly punk/pop-punk, so that's the part where i don't know what to do. i was thinking about making an "80's Hardcore Punk" section and i was considering doing a pop-punk section, but at that point i think i might just be goin for it too much. what would you guys do? harryq Posted June 23, 2010 Share Posted June 23, 2010 I have mine ordered by how much I like the band (with related bands close together), but I wouldn't recommend doing this... let's just say when I get all of the colors for the matt skiba and sundowner records, a bunch of records are going to be demoted to the second cube of my expedit... scotterson Posted June 23, 2010 Share Posted June 23, 2010 I started doing this at some point, but I ended up thinking it was kind of silly. Most of the genres started overlapping, some only had a few records, it was more trouble than good. I did keep my instrumental records separated from everything else, but will probably merge them all again when I move. Alphabetical -> chronological is the way to go.
