thats kind of what i thought. i guess the autopilot being fixed eluded me, but it would make sense that he just repaired the program function for all the vehicles.

and i read this on vulture today from the costume designer... apparently a backstory scene was cut from the film:

The thing that you should have seen during that sequence is [bane] being injured in his youth. So one of the fundamental things about his costume is that he has this scar from the back injury. Even if he hasn't got the bulletproof vest on, he still has to wear the waist belt and the braces. In that scene in the prison, where he's learning to fight the same way Batman learned to fight, he's wearing an early version of his waist belt. It's showing support, but it's not the finished one he eventually wears. He's also wearing an early version of his gas mask, all glued together ... If you look at the film, unless they've cut it—and I'm sure they haven't—there's a whole early section for Tom Hardy where he's fighting and being taunted by people. He's got chains on him, and he's standing on a wooden thing while people are attacking him. And in that scene, he's wearing a much more ragged, primitive version of the mask.

Fuccck. I hope that scene gets included on the DVD. I would of killed to see more of his back-story. Just like someday I hope they release the diary Heath ledger kept when he created the joker.

Well that's a no brainer. Unfortunately, no director's cut though. Not that I think there have been any for these movies.

Nolan's one of the few directors who personally shoots and cuts all of his own films. No secondary unit, ever. All of his films are the director's cuts.

blu-ray trilogy for $29.96

http://www.amazon.co...astapadrecom-20

if you're a pseudo/wanna-be blu-ray collector like me, you might be more interested in the best buy exclusive steelbook, which should go nicely with the steelbooks of batman begins and the dark knight (either the import ones or the cheaper looking best buy exclusives from this summer)

http://www.blu-ray.c...-Blu-ray/51955/

I just have to decide if I want a set of steelbooks or if I want the trilogy in a boxset + two steelbooks... in any case, I have extra copies of batman begins and the dark knight if anyone wants them

(and, yes, I realize that this will probably be $20-25 on release day vs. $25-30 for the trilogy, but everyone probably already has the first two movies, so it's pretty much a question of aesthetics at this point)

------------------------------------------------------------------

and I just read this on the blu-ray.com thread for the dark knight rises:

For all of you who are thinking about buying that trilogy set in December, you may want to hold out. I just saw this on the Batman-on-Film website:

To help celebrate their 90th year, Warner Bros. will be releasing an "Ultimate Collector's Edition" of THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY in Quarter 3 of 2013. Rumor has it that it will include audio commentary from director Christopher Nolan...and A LOT of other cool stuff as well. If it were me, I'd buy RISES when it comes out on December 4th and hold off on buying the TRILOGY as a set next year.

The guy who runs that site seems to generally be in the know about these kinds of things, so I'd wait a year until you plunk down any money for a trilogy set. I'm definitely buying the Blu-ray for TDKR itself on December 4th, though.

so yeah, if you're one of those "completist" people (and I assume a lot of us here are), you may want to consider that
