swoopdog
So this is post-rock? I'll take it!
swisherprice
Isn't Explosions in the Sky that band who made the music for House, cuz they rule! Explosions did the movie Friday Night Lights, not sure if they ever did anything for House, but Massive Attack - Teardrop is the House theme song. mrewest
I didn't read the whole thread so this may have been mentioned already. Lately I've been turning to this alot. Some beautiful stuff. I saw End of the Ocean open for If These Trees Could Talk. That band was fucking incredible live. I got their CD and it doesn't even come close to matching their energy live. Had I only heard their CD beforehand, I wouldn't have been that impressed. But my God are they good live.
alfred
Godspeed, This Will Destroy You, and 65daysofstatic are probably my top 3. Godspeed is number one by a country mile, no one makes post-rock like they do.

versusexcalibur
I think Tristeza was mentioned in this thread. The first lp "spine and sensory" is perfect.
sideny
Pretend - great local band. jazz rhythm in parts with crazy time signatures. some light vocals on parts of the album but it doesn't detract anything from the whole. this album needs to be pressed. second album is in the works. cool, humble dudes. ronniegwilliams
My buddies in Spirit of the Stairs from Wichita, KS (where I reside) are pretty goddamned amazing. Their guitar player Zack also plays in Senses Fail.

lexicondevil
If not already in this thread, Glaciers and Black Clouds need to be added. http://blackcloudsdc.bandcamp.com/
dawhizz
Though I don't really consider them post-rock, along the lines of Rachel's (who I LOVE), I would suggest Clogs and The Young Scamels. Also have to recommend All That is Not Music is Silence by The Sleep Design. Got it on a whim through Noisetrade and really dig it. http://noisetrade.com/thesleepdesign/all-that-is-not-music-is-silence
