yocaseycasey
The lady just said we should give something up for lent this year, even though we aren't Catholic. She mentioned things like sweets and candies. I told her I was going to give up crossing my legs like a girl. She wasn't humored.

GradedOnACurve
Catholic Church is bullshit EDIT: I should say I gave up the Catholic Church for Lent, but then I gave it up forever.
AlexH.
Not Catholic, but I gave up smoking with 3 friends last year, with the goal of quitting. It didn't stick, but even if you're not religious it's a good way to become aware of how dependent you are on certain habits. I definitely cut down on casual smoking after it was over. somethingvinyl
Not Catholic, Orthodox or any other Anglican-influence traditions. But since I live in New Orleans I partook in the pre-Lent festivities of Carnival season.

justaminrthreat
It's not because of lent, but I stopped smoking 8 or 9 days ago for some reason. I ran out and just never bought more. I feel weird. I think about it all the time and if there were a cigarette or someone with cigarettes here right now I'd definitely smoke one, but I'm kinda proud of myself despite it not being that long.
