hankmurphy
It seems like a joke. It should be a joke, but I know it isn't.

circuit bored records
Meh QFT I don't like any Baz Lurhmann films, and I don't expect that this one will turn out different. Doesn't help that I'm not a fan of the book either.

ticotico
i dont understand whats so great about this book. i had to study both the book and film. still nothing. im just not meant to live the American dream then.. but ill believe its better than i could understand....er based on its popularity. especially with the hipster these days
batman
could be good. i remember liking the book, but i don't remember much about it.
kylekrische
I went into the book not expecting to like it and ended up loving it. That passage describing Gatsby's smile still gets me every time. I enjoy Baz Lurhmann stuff so I'll probably check it out. I just see this one being tough to convert for the screen.
somethingvinyl
Loved the book when I read it in 10th grade.
meganonthetrain
I enjoyed the booked when I read it in high school, and I also like the 1974 version of the movie then. But this trailer just confuses me...with the modern music and such. But I'll definitely give it a shot when it comes out, I feel like it been so hyped. Guest
i never go to the movies, but im sure ill watch this at some point. i doubt the modern music carries into the film... i feel like they would know better than that.
jerseydave77
This film needs more auto tune and more glued on beards.

mcm1610
I'll probably see it at some point, but not in theatres. I love that time period and am a huge history nerd. The restlessness and confusion of the era between the wars is great, my favorite era by far.
rtw88
I haven't really had high hopes for this since it was announced that it would be shot in 3D. I just reread the book and I still really enjoy it. It's a shame that a movie with so much potential looks like it is going to fall flat on it's face.
collectivemike
The music they chose for this put me off. It's a period film... why not use songs from that era? Also, 3D?
zacaroo21
I like the casting choices, but it all reminds me of the Speed Racer movie - which was gawd awful - in it's super saturated colors and super close up shots when people are speaking. I'll definitely see it, but going in with lowered expectations now that I've seen a trailer.
GMay
Pretty excited about this. The cast looks great. I like the choice to highlight everything in brighter colors to contrast the dark theme of the story. Don't mind the use of modern music in the trailer because if they used music from there time, I'm sure people would label it hokey. Never been the biggest fan of Luhrmann but I think the acting will hold this film up.
