$150 Audiophile Turntable: This could be interesting

Recommended Posts

I am by no means an audiophile but I'm curious to see what all the enthusiasts are thinking about the new specs they posted yesterday - flutter, rumble, etc. Obviously nothing can compare to testing it in person but based on the numbers, how do you think this will compare to entry level pro-jects or regas?

Well, that was a very fair and measured response.  Am I on vinyl collective right now?

Are you dissatisfied with my response? I know this is VC, where people get off on aimless, petty arguing. I don't swing that way. If that's what you were looking for, I'm not your guy.

this conversation is super engaging.  giggle-worthy.

on topic:  i am considering this table.  price point is on, and it'll work for what i need it for:  an upgrade to what i have now (some jvc from the early 90s), and downgrade from my dad's audiophile table (linn sondek) that has no place at my apartment / with my set up.  i'd go for the upgraded in cobalt blue, which still clocks in at 1/2 the price of a carbon with an upgraded platter.

anyone have insight per my situation, here?

Use the Linn or sell it to me.

hahaha no way!  i have big plans for it.  it just wouldn't be doing anything with the stereo at my apartment.  the biggest downside is that it doesn't play at 45rpm, so you need a linn power source, or a 45rpm adapter (which i've read wears on the motor).  i'm trying to do right by this deck.
