I have never been known for my sense of humor... The part where your joke went wrong is where you called me an idiot.... that took it from a place of you joking around and creating text on a computer, to you claiming someone that I do know (and no longer keep in touch with) was calling me an idiot.... that makes it personal and not a joke.

If you do not have FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE, please do not speculate.  I have friends that have used this site both credibly for years to trade, sell, buy, etc.  I just never was much of a message board guy because it takes up too much time, as is evidence of how much time I have spent on here since joining yesterday...

I don't have a clue, or really care, if it plays or not. I mean - it's Fall Out Boy - and it's From Under Cork Tree. Not unreleased demos from the Beatles. I'm just going on what other people have said.

 

I was hoping to pull up the actual archived ebay listing from his sale, but I can't find it anymore, not sure where the above link credits Johnny but here is his listing details... I pretty much stole his text word for word because he knows more about the finer details of the releases than I do... that being said, none of us are right 100% of the time, who knows, maybe instead of 20 of these, there were only 18 ever made?

Alright, so here is the last thing I really want to say about this whole thing.  The reason this thread pissed me off was because I had numerous bid retractions on my auction.  I wasn't sure what was going on but I am either attributing it to people reading on here that it didn't play, or that people who couldn't afford it just wanted to see how high it was going to go.  Either way, I don't really care what any of you think of me.  I don't have a sense of humor and I am too serious all the time.  All I ask is that you guys be more responsible.  This is a resource, quit ruining it for the people looking for actual and factual answers.

Maybe they just ran a test with a blank stamper or something and there's one record out there that doesn't play. That's always possible.

Adam, did your record have grooves? Did you ever attempt to play it before you sold it? What was the result of that experiment?

it had grooves but they were coated in something which deterred it from playing

takinanewtack. I sent him the video via dropsend. i paid alot for it

(but thats for me to care about no one else). I love this record and its

now a tresured part in my collection. if you would like me to post a

video of the entire album playing with closeups i happily will.

There was obviously a third... That seems to be the unplayable one that adamrfox had at one point.  

 

As to any of you who think I am upset about the amount of money I got for three records, I am not.  Objects hold different value to different people, to me they weren't worth holding onto.  If I was upset about the sale price (or worried about it for that matter), I would not have sold them with no reserve or even in an auction format, it would have just had a buy it now button next to it... 

 

I asked for the buyer to send me the video of him playing it for the people who actually did care about the topic, if you don't, thats fine, have fun doing what you do here.  It's been quite entertaining to be honest but day in and day out this must be exhausting...
