kevbayer
i disagree, it contained Mike & Bill and also includes Roddy on the liner notes as a member (but not on the recording) it would be a nice insight into the very early parts of the band, but since anything released pre introduce yrself probably wont be getting a reissue (too bad) it is really a non topic. Is there anyplace guaranteeing the green "the real thing" preferably in the US?
tonyfranciosa
just got an e-mail from Acoustic Sounds - they are definitely not getting the green splatter. only black. bummer... i'll probably keep my order intact, though.

828321
i disagree, it contained Mike & Bill and also includes Roddy on the liner notes as a member (but not on the recording) Their biography advises they had no control and that Billy being bullied by Morris was the reason that they wuite the band. Morris dictated everything. Gould and Puffy were nothing more than session musicians in that setup. When they started Faith No more after leaving Faith No Man they were finally happy as they enjoyed playing with each other. The negative creative and personal experience they had with Morris shaped Faith No more, no doubt, but the bands are not the same entity. They were very different animals. Morris convinced them that they should never use a full time singer, which is how they ended up without one for several years.
bossdj26
I'm taking a shot on these guys: http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/products/FaithNoMore-TheRealThingGreenVinylEdition-MusicOnVinyl-92943.html Hopefully this is my best shot at a green splatter :/ If not, whatever. This was one of my favorite albums growing up
thoughtriot
I've bought all my coloured copies through ebay. The guy I linked before (http://item.mobilewe...Id=310745479957) has been pretty good with combining postage etc. But it's still shipped from the UK, so you'll have to be prepared to pay international shipping. I guess thats one of the only benefits of living in Australia. Whether its a US or UK release, the shipping is equally expensive!
morfiend
I called soundstagedirect earlier today to inquire about The Real Thing green splatter LP. The guy there says that the color variants for the FNM releases will only be released in Europe now. He said it was something to do with Warner Bros and the rights; anybody have more information? Yeah, that sounds like what I was hearing. A few days before the release of Album of the Year, I was told by one of my suppliers that MOV was blocked from exporting most of their catalog. That particular supplier was able to full-fill orders by going through several European distributors, but didn't receive very many on colored vinyl. After doing a lot of searching myself, I was able to obtain some colored copies from a supplier but most were on black. On top of this issue, my first order of these got stuck in customs and then arrived with half of the LP's damaged. I finally received my 2nd order yesterday and got all of the orders full-filled. Big thanks to those of you who ordered from me and patiently waited while all of this was sorted out. What a hassle!
frank 2.0
From an ebay listing: The real thing MOV on green/yellow marble vinyl, actually more solid green:
The Doctor
Is there any chance Amazon US will get green? If not I'm going to cancel, there's not point paying $40 for this if it's black...
pablod85
I got a copy of Angel Dust from Amazon seller The Connection. Both records were disc 2 (C/D sides) so I'm returning it. A friend of mine had the same problem.Curious if this happened to somebody else from this board...

828321
on ebay and a Why not? Because you can pick up an original US pressing for around $15.00 on ebay and it sounds great. Also you can get an original UK copy for less than that and it;s also very good (made by PRS in Holland). MOV made a big mistake in not adding War Pigs and Edge Of The World and sticking toi the original vinyl track-listing. nothingnatural
mcpherson123
I've never seen an original US press go for $15 nor a UK copy for less than that unless they were in horrible condition. I'm sure that must happened a few times but I don't think its a common price point for that LP. I think the usual is more like $30 to $65. Looking at the recently completed eBay listings for it there seems to have been a pretty significant dip in the overall prices but $15 and under prices were fewer than the aforementioned range. Definitely more than I expected in the $25 and slightly under area. I think it would be cool to have the two tracks on there as well but that would put the LP a bit over 55 minutes and would need to be split across two LP's in order to maintain an acceptable fidelity. I guess they just didn't want to break the mold of the original release. Of course there are wizards at cutting who can manage to push the boundaries of the LP time constraints and come out with an exceptional sounding single LP. Luckily, I have a 7" with "Edge of The World" on it so that gets me through. Nothing with "War Pigs" on it though.
Korgull Of Morgoth
Don't know about online sales of TRT but in actual 2nd hand shops here in the EU it's not uncommon fo find copies of it in the 10/15 euro range.
The Doctor
Why not? Soundstage Direct has it for $34.99 plus free shipping at the very least, so why wouldn't I save $5 if I could?

I wasn't aware of that. Personally I'd much rather have an original anyway and I do but I'd love to upgrade to a nicer copy. Mine is not bad by any means but something in EX range would be nice. Don't know about online sales of TRT but in actual 2nd hand shops here in the EU it's not uncommon fo find copies of it in the 10/15 euro range. That's insane. I think I've seen it on reckless.com a couple times and each time its always been at least $24.99. Not a bad price but not quite as cheap you guys have it in Europe. So you're not that far from there and maybe the price of the og pressings will drop even lower now that the new ones are available.
