mrrom92
I'm surprised Third Man didn't release this as an album of 78s. Pressed on shellac for authenticity.
chiefwahoo
It's nice to see that none of the colored Sun records sent through mailorder have hit eBay yet. Maybe that should tell them something?

They haven't shipped many out yet.100 of them are in the Rolling Record Store and they haven't gone on sale yet. There are less than 50 out right now, depending on how generously they are shipping them in the mail

There are less than 50 out right now, depending on how generously they are shipping them in the mail I'm only referring to the mailorder copies, which would be a total of 150 between all three titles. Just a casual observation. The way their stuff gets flipped, I'm still impressed even if all 150 haven't been sent out yet.
kylebutcher5
Yeah, being a Stripes fan, TMR flippers are the worst. The way I understood the variant was 150 yellow/black ones were pressed. Out of the 150, 100 of each are being sold in the RRS at different times and 50 are being randomly sent out. That's how it is with all singles in the Blue Series

But with there being three different Sun titles, that means that 150 copies could theoretically be in circulation right now. And zero are on eBay. kylebutcher5
OH well that's just a classic misunderstanding! Jack White probably has 149 in a safe and one to that guy who got it on the TMR thread here haha
andrewlucas
I'm confused... Are we still talking about the gatsby soundtrack?
kylebutcher5
I'm confused... Are we still talking about the gatsby soundtrack? I believe it started with Gatsby, led into flipping it, which led in to a discussion on TMR flipping in general which led to the newest TMR release to flip
chiefwahoo
My fault. The Gatsby flipping comment led me to the Sun flipping comment. I forgot this wasn't the catch-all Third Man thread or I wouldn't have posted it here. Sorry.
nardes
Does anybody have any information about the Amazon pressing of this? I know when I asked before somebody said it was a tricolor record but I can't find any other info about it

I know when I asked before somebody said it was a tricolor record but I can't find any other info about it My guess is that the version available on Amazon is the standard version available on the Third Man site for $25 plus shipping. I preordered through Amazon with Prime. It will be considerably cheaper than purchasing directly from Third Man.
nardes
Ok, thanks! I originally ordered from Third Man, but canceled my order and ordered with Amazon so I could get it with my Prime shipping so instead of $32 from Third Man it's only $

nardes
here's an instagram video I did... on the front you can see the die cut, and the eyes take up the entire gate fold. The lyrics are printed on a folded sheet of paper that feels like leather, and the records feel like the nicest quality of records I've ever held in my life. The record sleeves have an inner plastic lining to keep the records nice and clean of dust bunnies! http://instagram.com/p/cLFRnLoQO7/
DJ Quik
Like the Lana del ray song , couldn't get into anything else on it Really excited to see what they do with Magna Carta Holy Grail, which has grown on me since release
andrewlucas
I cant watch it. :/ I don't do instagram. Its too easy to get sucked into this world of pagers, zenith televisions, walkmans, and laser discs. Zip drives, floppy discs, and Nintendo power glove.
