kas1985
Aside from the controversy with how limited this is or how expensive, I'm hoping this comes in some kind of enclosure so it looks like a set, whether it is a slipcase or a velvet lined box or something. From all of the pics I've seen, it looks like it comes as 2 separate wooden enclosures.
dreamover
pretty sure it's two wooden enclosures.
kylebutcher5
everything else aside, to advertise something as "limited edition" and then only press as many as people order is pretty deceitful. They do that with the Vault, and I'd say Icky Thump Mono is pretty limited
timsimmons
Given the price, it would be nice if they included the regular pressing so you have something to actually play.

When you're willing to spend ~$300 on this, whats another $25 for the regular edition.

AlexH.
Couldn't they give the deluxe version it's own catalog number instead of 222M? As someone working on a collection to obtain every catalog number version available, how about 223? The Rome deluxe got its own number (that I am still trying to track down). Grr. DJ Quik
Anyone else getting a $125 "Watch The Throne" vibe to this edition?? meaning what? anyway, the soundtrack isn't good, at all, and this "limited" edition is expensive, those 2 combined don't equal hot sales. avery
The difference is that Luhrman's R+J was set in modern time so the modern music makes sense, even though the dialog was Shakespearean. Gatsby (as far as I can tell) is a period piece and all these "modern" artists were just chosen because of their current popularity, not their fit onto a soundtrack for a movie like this. Also, I really fucking hate DiCaprio. you have a valid point about the difference. however, luhrman's films tend to be really opulent in a fantasy driven way, exaggerated and very visual. i just saw the movie today and i think the soundtrack fit it very well. i'm not going to buy it though because i really only like jay z and jack white and don't really think it's much of a listening piece without the movie. this soundtrack would only fit in a luhrman version of a 1920s setting. i would totally think it was misplaced if it were in something like boardwalk empire. filthyrich
meaning what? Incredibly overpriced for what it is. I guess they're putting out a regular version of this soundtrack at least. The $125 version of WTT was the one and only vinyl available. (Non-bootleg anyway...)

dreamover
The bootleg sucks because it's clean i picked up a (most likely) bootleg copy recently that doesn't look anything like the one on discogs. it's not clean, looks nice, and surprisingly, sounds incredible. it's clear vinyl with labels that look like the picture discs. The record store next near me is selling the WTT bootleg for $140, either the owner is an idiot thinking he has a legit version or P.O.S. trying to scam someone. njpunkmusic
Man I wish this was the $125 WTT vibe. Atleast that album is half the price and 15 times more listenable. Im really kicking myself for going for this boxset. It was an impulse thing and now hearing from people who actually have the physical copy it is not worth the $283.
