GradedOnACurve
Lesson learned = don't announce a release until you have the product in hand. False. Must create demand first!
drds89
While his besmirching of the English language soured me to the point I likely won't buy this out of principle (the only thing he could have said that would be more stupid than trying to use the term "a minute" as something to describe a long amount of time would be if he also said "if you have any questions, "inbox me""), I will give him props for not doing a pre-order and waiting until he actually has his product available before taking people's money. That act almost cancels out the bad one and in the end I bet I do end up buying one, especially if the price is right. So the moral of the story kids is that "inbox" is not a verb, it is a noun and that "a minute" is 60 seconds in length which is not a long time. Neither one of these things should ever be used, let alone when you are trying to promote your products. This concludes this morning's grumpy old man rant. mxv
might i recommend "crotchety" as an replacement for "grumpy"? That works too
mxv
Is this real life? Any other slang terms or phrases you have personal problems with? We would all love to hear about it. I don't know what the fuck a "finna" is but I'd like to punch anyone who says it in the throat repeatedly until I beat the stupid out of them. That's all I have for now but I'll chime back in if any others come to mind. Thanks for being a good listener. dantheriver and suchashorttime
mcpherson123
I grew up with finna and I still use it ironically. I guess you could call that Hipster Ghetto.
suchashorttime
"finna" is some midwest shit. we, here on the east coast, stare blankly at such nonsense. don't get me wrong, the east coast isn't without its own idiot-lingo. philadelphians have their "jawns" and baltamorians are "tryina" do everything (it sets the bar for a high level of success). in new york, people will speak in plain gibberish, then look at you like you're an idiot for not knowing what they're talking about. go to college, man. learn how to talk good. mcpherson123
I don't know if it comes from Chicago in me but I also have a high level of "tryina" that spouts itself from my mouth when I'm not being particularly articulate. Also, super amped for this record.
mindovermatter
I'm finna release this shizz in a minute. I'm just tryna make a good product for yallz. Just playing. I'm only being tight-lipped because I only don't know how long it will take me to do all of the printing. Since I do all of it myself. By hand. One at a time. That's all! I promise I'm not going to swindle anyone nor will I surprise anyone with the "PO" when it goes up. Once concrete information is available, my VC "peeps" will be in the first to know. :-P drds89, Neanderthal and throwgncpr

deletedunknown
Is it mostly the These Arms Are Snakes part people are interested in for this release? There's so much Harkonen in general that never got pressed back in the day. I mean I'm just as interested in this release as anybody, but I can't help but wonder. mcpherson123
Its hard to say. I got into this release solely because of TAAS but I definitely grew to love the Harkonen stuff. I even bought Shake Harder Boy when that was finally pressed by Brutal Panda. Good shit. deletedunknown

I'll spare everyone my Radio "I Like Both" homemade meme again, but for me Harkonen wins by a narrow decision on this split, fwiw, since deletedunknown threw the question out there. I have the yellow/blue Shake Harder Boy and it does not gather dust! Ben's chemistry with the ladies in Helms is incredible, I'm so glad he isn't just making custom amps for a living. I dig both bands, but my musical taste these days is more in line with Harkonen than TAAS. I'm guessing TAAS are the draw for most people though. mcpherson123
"Payday Loans" and "Hook On This" are two of their best songs. Hands down. There's just something about their split tracks that kills me. I love their albums but their contributions to splits are always somehow slightly leftfield and have such a weird particular magic to them. Either way I'm gonna spin this sucker like mad and listen to every track every time.

mindovermatter
Tests should be here...soon? This is what I'm told. ;-) Components for the jackets/artwork are coming along slowly but surely - there are a couple of releases ahead of this one, but I expect this to be at the plant for a couple more months at least. The reference lacquer sounded KILLER, for what it's worth! drds89

What kinds of things do you have to do to the artwork? Did you only have cd-sized source to make look good, or is it new art/layout kind of stuff? Did you only have cd-sized source to make look good, or is it new art/layout kind of stuff?I have all of the original hi-res artwork. HHR actually did an awesome job of archiving their art because they sent me all of the worker images and individual components. With these, I am recreating *most* of the artwork as you saw it on the CD version, but it will be screen printed. I will be re-creating the artwork on the inside of the CD art as an insert and adding a little flair to it. If you've never checked out any of our other releases, take a peek. It will give you a little clue as to how these will turn out.
