Derek™
OP didn't ask for instrumental-only bands, so I think it's not necessarily the same thing. Also very true. I didn't really consider that a lot of my recommendations feature zero vocals or minimal vocals, outside one or two suggestions.
deafening
I was skimming through the bands suggested and didn't notice the OP bands which some clearly have vocals. Ignore me, carry on.
dapeebs
Well Derek Decoder was a post-hardcore band but sounded very chill and dark. It included screaming but it worked really well. You should definitely check them out!
One Hundred Fifty-Two
If you want some downtempo electronic music two people I'm digging right now are little people and bonobo.
cwhitmuzik
Decoder had a ton of potential but the album had so many generic/similar sounding songs but "Holding On" was amazing.

Yeah unfortunately some of the songs sounded too similar. I love Holding On, one of my most played songs. I loved the vibe they give off. Mellow and chill with some screaming without becoming too aggressive. My favorites have to be Holding On and The Horrid.
dapeebs
And unfortunately they had to disband because a band with the same name sued them and at least one of the members was looking at jail time. At that point I believe they were pretty much done. Rise Records announced plans for new music under the name Lead Hands but that was said about a year ago, so unfortunately they are probably done. With their former guitarist in Memphis May Fire and probably still ongoing legal disputes, it's unlikely they are coming back.
WastedL1ght
Not sure if I'm completely right with all the genres, but here are some of my recommendations. This Will Destroy You (Post-Rock) 65daysofstatic (Post-Rock, Math-Rock) Tides of Man (Similar to Circa and Harvard) The Sound of Animals Fighting (Experimental, also involves Anthony Green) Mogwai (Post-Rock) Burial (Ambient) Caspian (Post-Rock) Buckethead (Experimental)
mrewest
You WILL like these bands. Post-rock with vocals. The former being a little heavier. The latter more "orchestral" sounding. Athletics Owel deafening

radiatorhums
Early Four Tet is really chill, pretty much everything up until There Is Love In You. There is a little more of a dance element on that album and that seems to be the direction he's been heading since. Pause and Rounds are both fantastic. thefence2113
http://www.glories.bandcamp.com ^great group of guys I work with/have known most of my life. Alabama post-rock (kind of weird I know) They will hopefully be opening for Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra soon at the Bottletree Cafe in Birmingham. I'm really hoping they can boost their reputation. These guys deserve some attention. This show definitely won't hurt. I'd really love to have them something pressed in the future if anyone has any suggestions on how I should go about doing this. FFO: Explosions, TWDY, Caspian, etc.
HybridxReality
Almost made a new thread, but decided to use the search function, and lo and behold... I just found out about this artist and he's a mix of Post Rock and a little bit of Math Rock thrown in there a bit. Oh, and he does everything himself. https://youtu.be/Mra1lxARhew Recommend headphones/earphones.
