  1. " If you pre-order Shrink Dust from us here at Subpop.com, you will receive a free booklet featuring a bunch of original drawings by Chad of characters doing frisbee moves from the science fiction movie he’s been making and of which this album draws it’s inspiration from. Customers who pre-order the LP will also receive the limited, colored-vinyl “Loser Edition” of the album. All of these items are on a first come, first served basis and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Order now to secure all of these limited-edition items! " Set to ship around April 29th. https://megamart.subpop.com/releases/chad_vangaalen/shrink_dust Just a warning - there was no option for media mail delivery (maybe due to the included drawings?) and Priority starts at about 7 bucks, so you're looking at $20.95 PPD.
  2. I'm definitely a fan of Circa, but I've never heard this project. After taking a bit of a listen, it sounds pretty dang good, I'd like to enter if that's alright. If I'm not up to 'regular' standard that's okay, I lurk more than I post anyway. You're still a good man to be doing this. Very generous to give away, rather than sell, music you know you won't listen to very much. I was pawing through my collection just last night and noticed some that fall under that category but to be honest I don't know if VC folks would want them even if they were free. Just really random stuff.
  3. Talk to the post office you sent it from. Call or show up in person. I live in Western New York and I have to be patient with the packages I'm expecting lately, I realize that if it's not possible for my shipment to get here in a timely fashion through white-outs and unsavory driving/flying conditions, I simply have to wait it out. But it should never take over a month. There's a problem somewhere.
  4. Played it for the Velvet Undergound-worshipping girlfriend, and she went through just about every emotion there is to have. Every time she thought she heard something familiar her face would light up, and then as the pizza references came her face would just crumble and frown. Mission accomplished. I know it sounds like I abuse her, but I love her, I do. I have to get my kicks where I can.
  5. Man, I hope they both get beat the fuck up. It's gone far enough. When i first heard about this all I could think about was O.J. Simpson selling his new book 'If I Did It.' Way to capitalize on human horror. Fuck.
  6. Had to get it, still have never owned it and people seem reluctant to let go of their old presses. Got the tape too, 3 bucks plus 1 buck extra shipping, it's actually not a bad deal at all.
  7. That's BMSR's Start A People, altered somewhat to have it on a piece of floating land. Some have said that little orange thing looks like a handle to an old-timey sword handle, some say it looks like a Sour Patch Kid. Whatever floats your boat. I always thought it looked like a weird teddy bear jumping rope. Anyway. My next plan is to have The Little Prince (from the French book) floating above the piece of land holding on to strings attached to flocks of wild birds, since that's how he traverses planets. Maybe you've heard the AJJ lyric.I know it's not ridiculously original, but.. I love that book. I gotta say, though, the inner bicep closest to the armpit.... that was the worst tattoo pain I have felt. I used to be a bigger guy - mostly in middle school and early high school - and that has left stretch marks on my inner arms. Tattooing over stretch marks is basically tattooing over scars. No fun at all.
  8. Well, dang. I'ma take your word for it. Thanks a ton for the sweet stuff xfrankx! If these tapes are good I'll be comin' back for more. ...man I have really gone cassette crazy lately, with all the Fleeting Youth tapes, and now this... I got five tapes today... I think I have a problem...
  9. I got my tapes today, haven't had the chance to play it yet but they look great. Pizza Underground, Brick Mower and the free mystery tape... Sundale? Anyone?
  10. I don't have anything you're looking for, I'm just here to say wow. That's a supremely shitty turn of events. One of those things that's uncontrollable and can't be helped, I guess, but damn. I'm sorry, man. I'm also saddened to see Maps & Atlases - Trees, Swallows, Houses on that list, I'm looking for it myself and it's not easy to find. Best of luck.
  11. That increases the probability of damaging or 'doing something else bad' to the record. Don't leave it naked anywhere except the turntable if you want to easily keep them nice.
  12. It's amazing how almost every one of those listings is just barely, barely converted to 50 U.S. dollars for some international shipping deal on a VG record from some European country. Come on, dude. Just because those records are available and ready to be bought doesn't mean they oughta be. I would never pay 50 bucks for Violator with international shipping from Sweden from some guy because some guy from VC told me those are better than the 18 dollar copies that will soon be available to me. Your enticing argument of "The American pressings sounded better than the European ones, can't explain it, but they did." only furthers the point that I shouldn't buy a 50 dollar 1990 copy from some guy in Spain.
  13. High school seemed like a pain when I was in it, and it was. But then I left. Senior year was one of the most carefree and fun years I've ever had. I don't have any good high school stories, really. One time I forgot to wear deoderant and by lunch time I was smelling pretty bad so I threw my sweatshirt in the garbage and bought some stupid school pride shirt because it didn't stink. I went out with three girls, one for a month, one for two months, and one for 5 days. One time I donated blood but didn't eat any cookies, and I felt all weird in class so I went to the nurse, except I didn't make it. I collapsed on the way. My ex-girlfriend found me and called somebody, they shoved me in a wheelchair and I got to eat free barbecue. I smoked weed all over school, we used to bribe the 'security guard' with Starbucks. It was somewhat of a rare school because being a white male, I was in the minority. I snorted crushed up caffiene pills off a bathroom counter once, not my proudest moment. I would sneak out of my house every night and my friend would pick me up and we'd go over to a friend's house and smoke and drink and be merry, like every fucking night. Oh, and two kids died in my senior year, both named Nick. One died while racing, one went into 'diabetic shock.' Those were a big deal, only one Nick got a big sign though. High school was the best, man. I'd never go back though.
  14. I can't find the Depeche Mode albums I want on vinyl, that's priced in USD or located in the US, that's in any sort of good condition for less than 30 bucks
