A few of the represses have been really necessary represses. Some Nights was reaching high resale levels, Take This To Your Grave was long overdue. Cute is What We Aim For was expensive af. I know some pressings of All We Know Is Falling got pretty expensive too.

this is by far the coolest release they’ve dropped, though. It’s gotta be their biggest record, no? Good Girls Go Bad felt huge for far longer than it needed to be.

hopefully this is the start of more cobra releases.

This was my literal pickup too. So silly considering it is /75 on the test but here we are.

Copped instantly. I wish I could hear a song now so I knew what to expect, but I’ll continue supporting these guys.

I’m betting they don’t have rights to the original version of this- and fans are paying money secondhand for it, so why not re-record it and at least give them *something*?

I feel like people here are so negative over nothing sometimes lol. What can ya do

Some really solid music on there. My personal recommendation is My Ticket Home “Strangers Only”. Great record to check out for $10!

Okay  -  so to clear the air - as soon as Kristian read my post, I received a message asking for my story, asking how LTO could make it right for me, and overall being super accommodating.  I want to express that LTO's service is really awesome.  I was so excited going into it, and not only have they sent me records, but also a poster that I plan to hang on my wall for the next 20+ years of my life.  I think if there is anyone on the fence about the service, it is absolutely worth giving it a try.  For me, the reason I signed up for it was because I live too far away from actually visiting the store unless I plan a trip, but I wanted to have access to what they have to offer.
I will keep the specific problem that I had between Kristian and I, but at the end of the day, the solution does seem to be simply me talking about it one on one.  Even despite the problem, I still kept my membership for two more months because I love what LTO does and I wanted to support the shop because it's truly one of a kind.

That was rough.  I got a few that I wanted - but I missed out on The Season which is a huge bummer.  On a positive note, more copies of The Season are out there now for me to potentially buy from someone!  So, if anyone is down to sell that, hit me up!!!  I am so thankful I got Quitter and Movement at least!

Kyle_ftl got a reaction from Kanye West in Buy some records. Taking offers on everything.
I messaged someone recently on here about records. I sent an offer that was competitive in the sense that if he really wanted money he could have accepted it, and he responded saying that he’d probably sell for nothing less than x different price. I thought it was really bold and awesome of him to tell me straight up that he would prefer this other amount. Ultimately, my offer was also my “max bid” and we didn’t strike a deal.  Still, I look back and think that it was awesome he was pretty straight up with what he wanted. In this circumstance, hearing a number coming back my way from the seller would have been beneficial because I’d at least know what you’re looking for. Sure, $130 mag not be enough to get a sale, but what about $145? Maybe the buyer was willing to pay that? What if the buyer was down to pay that $160 because at least it’s the 3 records the buyer wants all shipped together rather than adding $12-15 extra on shipping? Who knows

I just walked into my local UO last week and grabbed DNCE for $5, the Used Canyon for $10, new Pianos become the teeth for $10 and K Flay for $15. It was so awesome. K Flay was the one I was most excited for.

How dare a business do something that makes them money and hurts no one (super ultra variant collector nerds don’t HAVE to buy every variant, they want/choose to)! Boohoo.

Sellers are not allowed to adjust shipping as a counter pricing tool.  If someone does that you can easily report them and you will not be penalized.

So, they'll "reject" your offer but, as a hack, they'll send you a counter offer by accepting your offer and just adding to the shipping total? If I'm reading it right, that is 100% bonkers. You aren't bound to follow through on that and Discogs support will gladly help you avoid negative feedback and cancel the order.

When someone posts a link to their Discogs list on this website, I cringe because it's rarely in alphabetical order when I'm trying to browse through and find something I might be interested in, and it is separated into multiple pages by default, with each release having images next to it. It's great if I want to search Discogs to find releases, because they show the most accurate releases, variants, etc. but it's awful in trying to put together a collection list. The beauty of deadformat, for me, was just how simple it was to be able to send to someone like my mother, who could just click the link and easily view a list of my records. I don't feel that Discogs is nearly as simplistic, I just don't really like it for that reason. I don't need to see the record label, the release year... I just want simply artist/album/variant, which is what deadformat could offer me. It was also super easy to add releases to my list. I just had to click "add new" and type in specifically what I wanted to type in...

I also may be wrong about this one, but does it always show exactly what variant someone has in their collection on Discogs, or is it just simply the release name? I think that may have been an annoyance for me as well.

I think there's a difference between "not knowing how" and "never bothering to try" in utilizing filters. I spent a few hours adding records to my "collection" on Discogs a couple of nights ago in attempt to familiarize myself with it more. Things I still hate about it- when searching for a record variant, any major 12" record has about 5 million options to choose from, sometimes with 15 incredibly similar variants, and I have to click on 5 different links to find the one I'm specifically looking for... on deadformat I could have just typed in "artist - record - color" and submitted it into my trade list. Holy. Crap. This was SO much more difficult than it had to be.  I think I would prefer if the search results showed a lengthier list than just the first 3 letters of whatever the variant could be. Second, why the hell cant I see how many copies were pressed of these records? I really liked that aspect on deadformat. Third, I loved how I was able to see my entire tradelist on one long page on my deadformat. On Discogs, being able to only list 250 on one page is definitely a bummer for me.

Obviously, I need to make a google doc, but it's just frustrating.

The one major thing I love about Discogs conparatively to Deadformat is that I can see the values of my albums. I had no idea that feature existed, it makes my life easier, and shows me clarification that I have spent way too much of my income on music. Overall, diving deeper into Discogs made me enjoy it more than beforehand, but I still stand by simplicity in my list, which is what I felt deadformat offered me.
