I dig supporting NYC punk, but are all this band's songs just Misfits songs with different lyrics?

Right?! They're so so good and the vision and execution is so top notch. It always irks me to see kids who saw them with basement or like citizen calling them boring.

One of the first things I really liked about this band, apart from the members' previous efforts, was how well the music conveyed how it feels to live and cope in a place like Indiana. Maybe I'm biased because I live there, but this record truly has that Midwest longing. Though I wish there were a bit more noise  movements like on Infinity, these ten songs are very unique, very realized, and very good.

Its interesting to hear the previously released tracks in context of the album, especially "Lossed Over." On my 4th listen through I'm just now taking in the level of craftsmanship in these songs and the flow of the whole piece.  Also I found it neat that even instrumentally, "Dream Warden" is a far different sound than Further Out, which may well be even another side of Cloakroom to look forward to.  I'm thinking the d-side will have an infinity etching maybe?

Anyway, definitely check out the stream if you want a peek at the record, the quality isn't that great but it makes the LP's arrival that much sweeter!

OK. Here's the breakdown of difference between the import (Taylor Swift 1989) and U.S. release (T.S. 1989)

U.S. version has a yellow tint/hue to the jacket front and back and it's more glossy. Import is more white and a flat finish.

Of course on back the different copyright info and whatnot. Top is the import and bottom U.S. Looks like the UK/Europe import is being manufactured in Netherlands.

The inside art and labels on the import are the exact same as the U.S.

Now. The matrix numbers are completely different. I couldn't get a good picture to compare them.

It's worth nothing that the import feels to be of heavier weight vinyl than he U.S. version. Perhaps close to 180g but I'm not that nerdy to bust out a damn scale to weigh it. But the difference its noticeable when holding either ones.

As for how they sound? To me they sound almost the same. Subtle differences. Less surface noise on the import.

Received my off-colors of Sway today. Looks like I got:

Brown/Bone/Yellow /2100 (Odd, because I didn't order it. Extra surprise?)

    Blueish /120

    Pinkish /40

    Teal /120

    And it's very translucent!

Anyone know if this album will get pressed anytime soon? I know a majority of OF's bigger artists (Tyler, Mellowhype) have pressed their LPs, so I'm curious as to why this one wasn't.

We get it, you guys didn't order it because it was too pricey or you didn't know about it. But for those of us who did order it, especially in the US, we are all anxious about receiving it and seeing this thread bumped with a quote of "me too" is a bummer and a bit unnecessary. I'm sure not everyone will want to keep their copy and once its actually in peoples hands for a while and they've had chances to spin it there will be discogs listings and threads popping up aplenty

So here we are. Arrived safely, came shrink wrapped.

    Package:
The sleeve looks great, though the card is thin, but sturdy enough. The vinyl is stunning, as was evident earlier, and not so evident with my low-light poor photography. No liner notes, just a download code.

    Audio and manufacture:
Having just listened, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the sound, it sounded great. I'm hearing all the detail, whether it be on the louder parts of '26isdancier' and 'rufus', or the more soulful 'japanese ultraviolence' I'm hearing crisp guitars and great range. Trackwise, '1470 Man' and 'Want To Come Back...  Belle and Seb' are switched around, at least to what I'm used to.

Manufacturer is XVinylX from Prague, Czech Republic, I have no experience of them, anyone have any comments?

    Worth it?:
I imagine when you guys and girls in the US open this package you may feel a bit cheated as you don't get much 'tangible' for your money (for me it was a bargain btw ^^), but one spin of this record will soon cheer you up, I guarantee you.

Thanks, Tom!! Looking forward to it.

Oh, for sure. We've both visited many a time. I had to make five unique download codes at 1am the night before and thought these were universally cheeky enough — I allllmost went with BURRITO1, BURRITO2, BURRITO3, etc. haha! I am perhaps most looking forward to learning more about the SD music community and how we'll fit in and how we can get involved locally — I know there's more to it than this movie!

I got thissssssssss beep boop bop bop

    see above!

I know! Really excited to be closer to Caravels, Wild Ones, SPEX, etc. — I just texted Brian from Weatherbox about how hard we are going to hang now. I never get to see these people so it'll be a great change of pace. Thanks!!

These new songs are so so so very awesome. We'll have a new one premiering next week!

This was more directed at the general fan base who only go to shows to liek stage dive and fingerpoint to crucial lyrics and thusly don't have the ability to fully absorb the musical ideas going on in a band that isn't so immediate.

Further Out, the anticipated debut full length from the reclusive Indiana trio Cloakroom, can be defined best as an exploratory sonic mission. From the album’s opener, “Paperweight,” the crushing force of a wall of distorted bass and pounding drumming collapses to uncover the airy, reverb-soaked vocals of guitarist Doyle Martin, who’s carrying a sullen burden that seems just as weighed down. From the headbanging heaviness of “Moon Funeral” to the ethereal moments of songs like “Starchild Skull” and Mesmer,” Cloakroom’s output is the end result of researching seemingly dissimilar elements like atmospheric post-rock, punishingly slow stoner metal, and cathartic emo and how their best qualities can work into a final, organic sound, masterfully navigated by the expert and completely analog production of Matt Talbot. Further Out boasts the timelessness of a classic record: it is expansive and exploratory while still reflective and referential to the astral tendencies of predecessors like Hum and Jesu.

Could not be more stoked for this release.  I have a feeling this record will be a landmark release for the label and scene, I couldn't be more proud that this band is from my state.
