Lydia Ainsworth has a new record out in September and the few tracks that have dropped from it are quite fantastic. I didn't pay enough attention to them first time round but they are incredibly engrossing and very very well composed. It is being released on Arbutus records out of Montreal - a record label that I have been highly, highly impressed by this year - I am a big fan of the Sean Nicholas Savage album they released a few months ago, they also have a rad band called 'TOPS' coming out with a new album in September. Anyway, here is some choons from this new Lydia Ainsworth joint! The video is pretty fantastic as well. I recently shipped a record to a friend in Italy as a surprise record gift. Sent it via sea mail because airmail was fucking expensive (Australia -> Italy = $60 untracked airmail)! It made it to him.. in 3 months... but it got there. Not sure why Italy is so much more expensive to ship to than anywhere else

Just got an email saying that my order (Green) is ready to ship, but that the webstore miscalculated postage for my international order - extra 5 dollars had to be sent. Not too fussed, lookin forward to the record!

Stumbled upon this just now, listening to the stream on NPR and it is blowing me away. Checked out to see if it was being released on vinyl and it sure is...in a special edition too... details below: FFO.. I don't really know, godspeed? obscure folk groups? Lots of instruments in this album, baritone sax, tenor sax, clarinet, guitars, strings, wonderful chanting vocals, just got to listen to it to get the feel. Got the standard deluxe (is that a thing) of this today in the mail. Not a bad job, bookelt and liner notes are extensive, the die cut box it comes in is pretty cool. Worth $30 i'd say. The wooden deluxe probs aint worth it though

Just to counter the beats bashing - the latest model apparently has decent sound (according to Tyll at Innerfidelity) and I would trust that guys opinion on headphones given his experience. Out of curiosity, why not go for an open headphone, particularly since you are keen to use them for gaming - you will get a better soundstage with open - m50s wont give you that sense of immersion. I own the m50xs and they are fantastic for listening to music and I use them as my portables, but I think other models would edge them out in the gaming arena

I have very little clue as to where you guys are hearing gayngs in this, maybe 5% of the album later on but not enough to say it sounds anything remotely like gayngs
