wow, your responses have me in tears, I'll respond to the original posts soon. You guys are so awesome, you have no idea how uplifting all your words have been. I've kept busy the last few days going to a couple baseball games and hanging with friends. Trying to stay positive, but sometimes it gets hard not to think the worst. But you wonderful people are helping tremendously. Thank you so so so so very much. I'll keep you all updated as things progress especially since it's a lot of unknown at this point. I know I will make it through, I have a wonderful support system at home. And of course you guys. You guys really don't need to get me anything as flattering and kind as that is. Your kind words are more than enough. I can't thank you enough.

girlfriend has purchased a plane ticket! she'll be here aug 13-26, and we are going up north to camp with my family, so she's going to get to meet them as we had originally planned!
 
it's MUCH better than nothing and if something happens with her grandma, she'll have to leave, but regardless i'm feeling super lucky/happy that we get two weeks!

Quite good! Brooklyn has a really tasty Dark Chocolate stout that also packs a punch at 10% ABV. 
 
Can anyone recommend any Milk Stout? My favorite to this point is DuckRabbit's Milk Stout.

That sounds awesome. Let us know how it turns out. I'm actually growing my own hops right now at a buddy's house in Sonoma. I can't wait to use "my own hops" in my own beer.

Tomorrow I am brewing a Rye IPA and dry hopping it with some local hops. Excited for that.

Sure, drop me a line.  There's a great tech in Charlotte who will fix you up real nice, for not too much money.  Hell, I can take a look at it if you want and at least make sure you've got everything aligned and dialed in correctly.  Sounds like it's working at least.  Is there any reason why you feel like the motor needs oil?  Had the TT been sitting around unused for years or something like that?
 
For $40, I think you did okay.  I don't know much about Sanyo, but just from the appearance, it comes across as being pretty solid.  I mean, the platter looks fairly substantial and the tonearm appears to be relatively well-made.  Is the base made of wood or some sort of plastic?   Nothing spectacular, but I'd bet it's miles beyond that AT LP60 and it will probably serve you well until (and if) you decide to upgrade.

It was pixar, not very good, but it was them. Paperman (Disney) was incredible and i really liked La Luna (Pixar). They both made me feel something, i was really impressed by both. The Blue Umbrella just wasn't anything special, beautiful looking but nothing new.
