Tom Delonge's UFO got a reaction from MatthewTerbeek in I got a record and the center hole was drilled too small
The whole is just a tad too small, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can adjust it without damaging the vinyl?

this is dumb as shit. I almost want nothing to do with this and just to get the regular reissue. The only thing stopping me from putting this up on eBay is that I'll have nothing to show for that stupid ordeal lolol.
    Honest criticisms:
The paper bags are not conducive to actually listening to a record. I'm going to have to devise some sort of way to slip everything into an outer sleeve that keeps everything together and makes everything accessible.
The records have to go in new inner sleeves. The black ones are very heavy duty and look exceptionally nice, as nice as black matte can anyhow. But they're way too fucking tight. Like, unusable tight. But these are all going in frames anyway sooo
Records straight out of the package are f i l t h y. Have not cleaned or played yet. Not the worst new vinyl I've seen but close to it.
Looks like your basic Gz tech DMM cut, ie. zero effort in mastering, not excited to find out (haven't listened yet, with my luck I guarantee you I got two A/B sides too)
Die cut looooks duuuuuuuuuuumb. This really should have been printed on the inners, and properly scaled. But that would make too much sense. I agree with the thought that the bag was a coverup hahah
The inserts were damaged, not that I really care about a couple of stickers
Anyway, this could have been so much more for the RSD first release. Such a lost opportunity. Special colored variants, autographs, lossless downloads, demos, an actual legitimate remastering… anything
    But hey, paper bag.
My store had something like 40 copies, but you weren't getting one if you got there after 3AM. There were easily a few hundred people queued up but none of us knew if they had more than one until it was confirmed before opening. Pretty much everyone at the front of the line was there for this. The way it was handled was that prior to opening, they went down the line giving people a ticket just for this - the idea being that there wouldn't be a mad rush or riot in the store. They were all behind the counter waiting for you with your ticket when you check out, so that you could just make a mad dash into the store to browse and grab the "less desirable" releases first.
I ended up buying no other releases. I had a fairly large list of "maybes" and "must haves", and turns out with a complete lack of mastering details on a lot of the titles, and no desire to actually listen to some of the others, my list was whittled down pretty rapidly. My only other "must haves" were that Elvis 10" (none of the stores in my area got any, hit a brotha up if you can help out) and also that Paul McCartney Sweet Thrash 12" which I had no chance of getting, considering it was limited to 109 copies.
I felt bad about getting nothing else and decided to buy a glassjaw tee. It looks pretty rad. To be honest I'm more excited about the tee.
The preceding events transpired in front of local news cameras in a piece that could be aptly retitled "kids lose their mind over a paper bag."
    See it and weep. #madeit

I had 5 Brand New fans in front of me in line for 5 hours today. It was a verrrrrry slow 5 hours listening to them. I only now realize that Brand New is essentially a cult and their fans are the dumbest people I've ever listened to. I lived in Florida through the 2000 election with an asshole who stood on the corner with a "You're either with us or with them sign" on one corner and Krishna's on the other. For a month that was the dumbest scene I'd ever had to experience on an intellectual level until this morning listening to some asshole dropping choice quotes like "when I get home I'm going to cuddle my Deja in bed. I might play it once before I put it in the frame I bought..."

Sorry gang. It was brutal and there is no way that was an anomaly.

I'll update my username to anything of your choosing if this release doesn't see a vinyl press before the year is over.  I get that the thread technically belongs in the Everything Else board, but it just seems like it'd amount to unnecessary thread shuffling.

Tom Delonge's UFO got a reaction from Tommy in Why the fuck did I sell that?
In the mid 2000's I thought I was "getting out" of collecting vinyl, so I sold off almost all of my collection. I had orginal presses of Coheed and Cambria IKSSE and Deja that I sold for well below what they are worth now. I also had a clear pressing of Pinback's Blue Screen Life that I sold for super cheap. I don't think I'll ever get over selling those.

What records did you sell/trade/lose that you are eternally pissed about?

I don't really understand all of the hate for Will Yip. I mean at some point you guys have to realize that bands evolve and change their sound. They chose for their music to go in this direction. They chose Will Yip as a producer. For example I detest the new Fall Out Boy record, but they chose to make their record sound like that and as much as i want to hate Butch Walker in the end it is the band who writes the music and wants to change it up. You cant just vilify one producer because one of your favorite bands wanted to change their sound. Maybe he was one of the few producers who would let them experiment and take the path they wanted to take.

Loving this new song...cant wait for the pre-order

Sorry for the bump, but did anyone else get a G'N'R - Appetite For Destruction vinyl instead of the regular record? My wife ordered the white and she just opened it, the packaging was correct, except the actual album we were supposed to receive.

The repress from 2009 has the two bonus songs on it BEFORE Goodbye Sky Harbor. So if anything, I kinda prefer the way SRC pressed it, to keep the flow of the album.

The older I got the more I realized that shows are more enjoyable (from an actually listening to/watching the band play aspect) the farther you are from any section where you have to constantly worry about your surroundings. Yea, when I was younger I thought it was fun to be up close and jump around or whatever, but now I realize I paid to see a performance.
Long story short, if you are young and enjoy hurting people/getting hurt then knock yourself out. I'll be towards the back drinking a beer and enjoying the show.
