xxmartinxx
$9.65 shipping? Fuck that.
azvd
Band completely lost its track with their last album. And the side projects are far from brilliant as well. I always save some credit for them 'cause their first two records are really good and the third, despite hated to some degree, had its moments. But this new one will set the line between getting things back in track or definitely signing a retirement. About the bass, the video shows Paul playing it, so I guess they must have shared the duty between him and Daniel. I don't think they have an official bass player for tours. harryq
$9.65 shipping? Fuck that. same price here, and I seem to recall them having good shipping prices (although it's been a few years since I ordered from matador) http://store.matadorrecords.com/el-pintor
scott_c
Who is playing bass in the band these days? From the Matador PO page: All songs on ‘El Pintor’ were written and produced by Interpol, with Daniel Kessler playing guitar, Samuel Fogarino on drums, and Paul Banks on vocals, guitars, and taking over bass duties for the first time. rcafilm
Okay, I'm incredibly excited about this album, but seriously, this is the band with the least authority to set a pre-order without attaching a song. It's been 4 years since the last album, and it was a pretty big departure from their previous stuff. I would've thought Matador would've been smarter than this. Also not crazy about the artwork, but it's not terrible and at least it's not as bad as the S/T cover.

xxmartinxx
Apparently, I'm the only one who liked the s/t LP (though I agree, the cover sucked). I like this cover and I don't think they've released a bad album, so I preordered this.

Shelby
I also loved the S/T. Not in a hurry to pre-order this though for some reason.
mcpherson123
I'm only seeing a CD and "Deluxe" LP. Is that correct? No regular LP without a print or anything? Also white vinyl = deterrent. I AM getting a 4.17 media mail quote however.

faceghost
I love their first two records and they're actually some of my favorite releases of all time but I never got into the other two. However I feel like this one will be good, I might order.

rcafilm
I also really like the S/T (though it was definitely a grower). Honestly I don't think there's any need to pre-order the standard LP. I'm sure there will be plenty of copies available with much cheaper shipping closer to the release date.
kidamnesiac
"El Pintor" is an anagram of "Interpol" so this is basically S/T part 2. Joking aside, I didn't hate S/T and I love this band. Excited to hear how this turned out.
fitterhappier
Excited f the new album but I'm not too crazy about the white. I just associate Interpol with black

nelso330
That drum beat is sick....I think this album is gonna be good! I really don't dislike any of their albums. They all are pretty "standard Interpol" IMO. I don't get why some people shit on there last 2? They seem to fit right in. Some people don't want bands to expand or change. Ironically, Interpol stays pretty true to a formula, just don't get it?
