Been a huge Lips fan since '93.  
 
Embryonic was the moment they collapsed as a band, and chose to become a caricature of themselves. Wayne cheated on his partner of 20+ years with a 19 year old groupie, got her pregnant, started doing drugs again (at 50 years old), fired the drummer,  and gave up on the songwriting that made them famous. We'd have a shit ton of amazing Lips songs right now had he not gone through a debilitating and ultra-cringey midlife crisis. 
 
"Look at how weird we are" works when you have the tunes to back it up. When you don't... it's just... embarrassing. 
 

Here's how I flatten my records. It works every time, and as far as I can tell, doesn't damage the record. Note: It'll only work if you have hardwood/tile/laminate floors...
 
- Put the vinyl into a generic or trashed sleeve. This will prevent the sleeve of the album you're trying to save from getting damaged. 
 
- Lift up the corner of your record shelf (assuming it sits flat on the ground)
 
- Place the album underneath it, and set the shelf back down. 
 
- Forget about it for a month or two. 
 
Every record I've done this with comes out completely flat, and by the time you've forgotten about it, it'll be a nice surprise when you go to put another one under there   The solution is either money or time, and I'm a cheap, patient bastard.

The little asshole wouldn't make eye-contact with me when I introduced myself, and after a brief back-and-forth he just started ignoring me, even though I was the only other person in the room.  I haven't been able to take him seriously since then.

Beck has been my favorite musician since 1994. I have copies of literally everything he's ever recorded, from early demos to obscure B-sides. 
 
That said, he hasn't released a good album in 10+ years.
 
It's no longer an issue of "I don't like this album as much as the last," but an issue of "this is generic, unlistenable garbage." I still haven't made it through Colors, and after trying to listen to the singles from this album, I have no interest in hearing the rest. 
 
His unique humor and unbridled originality has morphed into seriousness and predictable adult-contemporary bore.

A novice carpenter could easily cut down, build, and stain all 10 of these boxes in a single work day, and I suspect the designer spent even less time on it than that. You don't usually leave the edges of plywood exposed (it's a building material, not a decorative wood), and you certainly don't stain the edges. 
 
If the albums cost $20 each (assuming they didn't get them at wholesale price), that's $200. The raw material the boxes were built from probably cost less than $10 each. Altogether, the 10 boxes cost $2,100 to produce. 
 
In total, they sold all 10 for a total of $12,000... essentially a $10,000 profit. Not bad for a days work, right? 

The fact that they promoted the original as "this will never be repressed" is probably grounds for a false advertising legal claim. I would imagine that they're keeping it quiet for a reason.

So... since online forums are dying a slow, painful, and predictable death thanks to the advent of sites like Reddit... you're going to willingly drive another nail in the coffin?

I'd never even noticed that they've never been released on vinyl before. Both albums were pretty stellar, and sadly, didn't get the acclaim they deserved. Can't say as much about their following albums though.

He's consistent, renowned for his work, and usually succeeds when he sets a goal. What really blows my mind is that none of you have tracked him down in person and kicked his ass/had him arrested. But by all means, if you do, videotape it and post it here.
