I just listened to the remastered comp and it is HUGE. This is one of the most drastic remasters/remixes I've heard in a long time.

PO'd the PV Early Bird variant. They never dissapoint with those, plus they deserve to be compensated for keeping shit real and consistently putting out great albums over the years.

Got this in today 29/500. Sounds pretty great. Plays at 45 rpm. Always skeptical about underground releases after the Spooky Black album that was pressed a while back. Very mild surface noise and haven't heard any pops or sibilance so I can't complain. Only cons about this release is the shitty quality artwork and labels are the same on both sides.

If Polyvinyl could release an Early Bird edition with 1 pink and 1 blue LP at 45 RPM, and for something closer to $28 or so, that would be pretty swell.

Grabbed the most limited variants of them. I listened to Fun yesterday and was thinking how I really need Some Kind of Cadwallader so this was weird timing.

Wow I actually got a shipping confirmation for Pt. 1 & 2 from the official store already!  I seriously can’t believe these were ready to go on time.

They are self releasing it so who knows what kind of physical release it might have, nothing is mentioned in the pitchfork article.
 
edit: some reddit insider claims they have another record in the can projected for a more traditional release in Q1 2019.

I got my tape yesterday too. It won't work in my portable tape player without putting pressure on it. It works in the tape deck I have in my room though. Kinda sucks but I have a few other portable players I could try out.  
 
Also, The vinyl release date has been pushed back to the beginning of November. I believe they will all be Red/Black split but not too sure. I tried cancelling my order from their shop so I could just get it from bullmoose but I got some automated message crap saying orders are processing blah blah. 
 
The album is good but not "it took a year to make this" good. I enjoy their others projects more to be honest. I don't like Scrim's vocals, they don't sound full or layered enough. Not sure how to explain it. Maybe because they were trying to record more "professionally"? Not sure if they had someone else mix and master it but it sure sounds that way. I guess that's the main issue I have with this album. It's definitely one of those albums that gets better with each listen. 

My tape arrived today. Really enjoying this album.

I don't really prefer one over the other aestheticly but translucent vinyl is more prone to skipping because it's softer. I dont think there's much of a sound difference though.
 
The non-solicited super dumbed down version of vinyl quality: Black vinyl is the peak of sound quality. Years of research it really isn't debatable. Yes it is translucent in it's natural state but that doesn't mean it's fine tuned for audio playback. Working backwards from there white vinyl lacks carbon which is what makes black vinyl black. Colored vinyl is white vinyl + whatever dye. Translucent vinyl is the next step down lacking whatever makes it white. Below that it gets more experimental which is why you have massive quality dips for gitd and glitter vinyl.
 
Any sort of splatter, marble, smash, etc makes it all a crapshoot 

I'm sick of smoke variants.
 
A lot of the time though with solid colors translucent does look a lot better. Yellow? The fuck outta here with that shit. Clear yellow? Hell yeah. Even if it looks kinda like piss.
