This album is fucking great. First one has its hits, but this one is a more solid record start-to-finish, in my worthless opinion. And it's a great summer record. Been jamming it so goddamn much...

I think he IS a great singer. And he sounds especially great when he pushes his voice and gets a little grit. I don't know if it was a conscience thing, but it seems like they picked lower-than-normal keys which makes his delivery that croony style. It's just less aggressive, and that's one of my favorite things about of his voice on older records.

Yup, and the only one where he isn't crooning. The vocal approach on this one doesn't take advantage of the best qualities of his voice.

This record is so good.

I ordered the orange 7" when all the LPs we're unavailable the other night. Then I ordered the orange LP when it went back up the next day. I sent Kings Road a massage asking if they could combine my orders and they sent a reply that just said "They will ship separately." Haha... Alright.

I got mine yesterday. The die cut cover is rad.

weird that there's no black vinyl option (yet there is with the 7").

not true. i wouldn't fucking touch the Only/Cyclopean merch with a ten foot pole. but i will be buying this.

this. i've read a couple of his books and the whole time felt like i was reading something by a 14-year-old trying his hardest to be shocking. it's just all felt really juvenile to me, in subject matter and quality of writing.

"HAND DI-CUT"

The song wasn't as bad as I would have expected. What I don't get is I keep seeing people hating on this like its more of a legacy killer than "in my head" was. The music sounds like it could have been written for that record.
