  1. I'm pretty late on this, but did anyone have any issues with their copy? I didn't pick up my delivery from my PO box until last weekend, finally gave it a spin last night and there's a pretty bad edge warp, queuing at the start will send the need skidding a second or two into the first track on both sides, the tone arm moving up/down/left/right the entire time, and there's some pretty bad surface noise at the start of side B. I've emailed 4AD/Matador to see if anything can be done. The album has grown on me since my last post in the thread, but I'm not happy with there record itself.
  2. looks like the amazon.ca listings got pushed back again. up to yesterday they were set to release on april 7th, now they're "shipping in 1-2 months" and my order now has a shipping date of april 23rd to may 4th. I'm doubting they'll really ship at this point.
  3. I'm really surprised they're hitting Vancouver, we usually get skipped when bands hit Seattle. that + my shipping notification showing up an hour ago is good news for me today.
  4. Anyone here familiar with this album and get their hands on the reissue that was supposedly released late last year? Shining hinted at remastering and rereleasing this album either late 2012 or early 2013 and then were silent about it until late last year. They teased the release in November, 2xLP in either black or grey, w/ a limited release on clear for their tour. The drop date came and went, then finally at the end of the month they announced that the album was officially up for preorder: https://www.facebook.com/shiningnorway/posts/10152995312688714 Unfortunately, it was Europe & UK only at all but one store, and I think the one store that would ship to the US was something like $50+ shipping. Shortly after, the Nuclear Blast page went missing, orders were cancelled and those that did order were told there was "a delay". No answer or status update from the band since. Up until three days ago the reissue didn't exist on discogs at all. I did some digging and found, surprise, Blackjazz on vinyl for sale on the label's website, which the band didn't link to before. It doesn't say if its the original press (doubtful) or the reissue, but it is for sale, says its in stock and ships worldwide. Still expensive, but not as expensive as buying a copy off of discogs, so I pulled the trigger last night. I haven't had my order cancelled yet, or received any shipping info, so who knows. Has anyone actually seen anything concrete on the reissue and know it was actually released?
  5. I want a John Hughes box set with like Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Weird Science and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
  6. no tears here, Insound really fucked me when they relaunched the site. I had ordered from them a bunch of times and been pretty happy, but the last time they charged my credit card dozens of times, maxing it out. took forever to reverse and I had to get my card declared stolen to get them to stop charging me. in the end I got a full refund and somehow my order actually showed up a month later, but their support and the general experience was terrible, I swore I'd never buy from them again.

  8. if I didn't have access to a PO box across the border I would probably never buy records. between the low dollar, shipping TO Canada being high and shipping WITHIN canada + inflated prices being even higher, we're getting screwed in every direction. after exchange it was about $31 CAD getting it shipped to Washington. I'm getting real tired of this, especially with so many new releases dropping the last few weeks.
  9. Yeah, the Wes Anderson tribute album was the same way, not sure if it's just how ALR runs or if the backlog at pressing plants are really that bad, it doesn't seem like other labels are usually that far off. though maybe the orders have already been placed before the PO goes up in most cases.
  10. From American Laundromat Records: JULIANA HATFIELD THREE ON VINYL!!! Whatever, My Love is coming out on vinyl. This will be an extremely small one-time pressing in your choice of Clear or Marbled Purple vinyl. Includes digital download card + bonus track. This one will likely sell-out in pre-orders so please get yours asap at http://www.alr-music.com/julianahatfield3/ $18. I don't see anything on numbers pressed, and I haven't heard the album yet, but there isn't enough Juliana Hatfield on vinyl so I'll be ordering one.
  11. try again. I thought I missed it because I was getting a blank box on my phone, but I reloaded a few times and got it in my cart/checked out without any other issues.
  12. hah, I just got a delivery estimate for Homogenic from amazon.ca, and see that all the albums are now preorder and $30. my order is still sitting at $19.99 each for Debut, Post, Vespertine and Homogenic, and $23.79 for Medulla. I think I'm going to cancel my order at .com once the other albums give an estimated delivery date. five albums for $116.20 after taxes if everything ships. *just noticed that while they're still listed as 2015 "limited edition", the label was changed from OLI to Sony Music Canada Distribution. I wonder if these will actually be the coloured pressing?
  13. damn... I really want this KMD - Black Bastards popup book/7"/CD... http://pitchfork.com/news/58800-doom-reissues-kmds-black-bastards-in-childrens-pop-up-book-package/
  14. Amazon.ca now has most of the albums up for $19 CAD, once again showing as out of stock. being in Canada this is an even better price for me, and a better price for Americans with he exchange rate. I ordered from both .com and .ca just in case they do eventually go through, I'll cancel whichever doesn't ship first, if they actually do ship.
  15. so I see these on amazon.com but "temporarily out of stock". anyone think they'll actually get them in, or more likely a placeholder that'll eventually get deleted? $22 for the single LPs and free shipping is a bit more in my pricerange.
  16. I broke and downloaded the leak while waiting for the LP to arrive. on first impression it's not bad, maybe even better than what I was expecting, but nowhere near Shrines. it's pretty basic sounding in general, nothing really caught my attention the first time through. maybe it's a grower, but I'm a bit let down. I don't see myself putting it on repeat for weeks at a time like Shrines.
  17. I'm a bit hesitant to post this, but maybe someone will have better luck/be interested (I'll explain below). Mammoth Cave Recording is going out of business and pretty much everything is marked down pretty low: http://mammothcaverecording.com/store/music. here's the email I got: So I guess that sucks a bit. I totally agree with points 2 & 3, the low dollar is fucking us in Canada (no matter how many people claim it is good for "us") and Canada Post has been fucking us on postage for a long time now. Ordering records in Canada sucks. Looking at the store, not "everything" is on sale, but most of it is. Now here's why I was considering not posting: I tried ordering from them before, nothing shipped, they wouldn't reply to emails or paypal messages, and it took a last minute paypal dispute for paypal to give my money back, no response from Mammoth. I don't know what happened, but a few months after that they started sending out pretty regular update emails so maybe something has changed. Given the prices, it might be worth the gamble again. I rally want that Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet LP and I'm not going to find it for $6 anywhere else.
  18. I need pretty much the entire Juliana Hatfield discography pressed, I think only two albums are on vinyl and nothing pressed within the last 20 years or so. Plus any Kylie albums from Fever onwards that haven't been pressed. and The Fitness - Call Me For Together, but that'll never happen.
  19. Fucking hell. Constellation's "canada only" preorders are $18 CAD PLUS $14.26 shipping. I might as well just order from the US to a PO box and get free shipping.
  20. This appears to be in stock at the Tiny Record Shop http://the-tiny-record-shop.myshopify.com/products/youre-a-woman-im-a-man-lp ordered it so I guess we'll see...
  21. Retail version is up on New on VInyl and includes the 7", but isn't up on Collect yet? So the difference with Collect version is a different colour + diecut? http://www.newonvinyl.com/en/thursday-waiting-ltd-lp7.html
  22. I'm waiting for the record to show up until I listen to the album, but I'm not holding on to much hope for it. I love Shrines, and aside from the music itself, I just love how dark the album it. The lyrics are like a horror movie in pop music form, its a great contrast. The two singles I've heard from the new album are way lighter and more basic, and the lyric content certainly doesn't have the creep factor.
  23. It's sweet that you guys are trying to keep this on the DL while daily vinyl source has announced the next release like it's a wide open preorder (which may be the case? I dunno, I'm not not the list).
