  1. You'd think for the price they could at least give a flac download.
  2. yeah, five tracks/45 minutes spread across 2 LPs, there's going to be way too much record flipping in that timespan.
  3. was an expensive weekend for me after exchange & shipping: blanck mass - dumb flesh (on clear) sexwitch - sexwitch kowloon walled city - grievances (on red) chealsea wolfe - abyss Chvrches - Every Open Eye (Coke-Bottle Clear) The Icarus Line - Penance Soirée (LTD marble) plus an order for 200 resealable sleeves that hasn't been processed yet
  4. Yeah, I picked it up a couple months ago at around that price (maybe it was $25?), but its the shipping that kills you if you're canadian, that was almost the same price as the box set. It's pretty cool though, really well made, awesome artwork and great album, its just such a pain in the ass to play.
  5. FUCK! ordered from HT yesterday morning hours before it was sold out, went out of town w/no phone access, come back today to find my order canceled this morning saying it's sold out... weak.
  6. I've listened the shit out of this album in the last week or so, I really like it. Yeah, much more pop than previous albums (I showed Stonefist to a friend who is pretty much only into indie pop and she told me that it was too poppy for her taste, I was a little WTF about that) but I still think it's pretty dark and noisy/abrasive at times. We'll see how it holds up in a few months, but currently it's probably my favourite HEALTH album at the moment, I find it much more cohesive as a whole than anything previous.
  7. Just grabbed my ticket to the Oct. 20th show. also saw that Battles is playing on the 6th so I grabbed a ticket to that too.
  8. Everyone sing along now... We thought they were gone But they've come back again Last May it was funny But now the sale's wearin' thin 'Cause everyone knows now That every night now Will be InSound's last night in business
  9. fuck, $25 canadian for the LP, $15.40 shipping in canada, so $38 after the discount (I think it was $43 without). gotta pass.
  10. went for EU pink since I'm in canada. I'm still a little concerned that the pink and green don't say anything about the embossed gatefold and I really don't feel like ordering another copy to be safe, so here's hoping it's just an oversight.
  11. ah, I figured that the white would have had its own number sequence, or at least all be part of the first 1085, not mixed in with the general release.
  12. So this is supposed to be a pressing of 1085, but mine is stamped 1813?
  13. FYI, the preorder went live today. $35 for a 180g double LP + DVD, $50 if you want a t-shirt with it. not great but not the worst I've seen/ordered. I do find it a bit annoying that while they'll give you the download of the album right away (which is nice), it's in MP3, you can only get FLAC separately off of bandcamp. I wish bands would cut that out and just make FLAC an option for their downloads that are included with LPs... http://archersofloaf.portmerch.com/stores/product.php?productid=19630
  14. at first I was wondering what the big deal was, there have been plenty of vertical record players in the past, but after actually seeing it, this is fucking dumb. the entire tonearm configuration seems wrong for the layout, and the fact that there's no dust cover of any sort is a huge nope. not only is the record vulnerable to dust and whatnot, does the tonearm just float there in the air when not in use? I can see someone catching it on something accidentally while walking by or cleaning (or kids), and snap, there goes the tonearm.
  15. I'm not going to give it a spin until the LP arrives, but the amount that the second single copped from New Noise have me a bit of hope. if the rest is basically on par with that track I probably won't hate it.
  16. oh god. I admit, I was pretty into them in highschool, up til Transmission at least, but I haven't listened to any of those albums since 98-99 I think. I'm a bit scared to give it a spin, I have a feeling it may not have held up as well as other albums from that era.
  17. I got an email from "ágætis byrjun" today, no subject or content. another announcement coming up (or already happened and my email is broken)?
  18. I can't be the only one that listened to the entirety of Sunbather at 33.3 before realizing it should be played at 45...
  19. this shipping shit is ridiculous. I wanted to pick up Synthetica as well, so that with the new LP preorder, shipping from Montreal to Vancouver is $30 fucking dollars. But I can ship the same package to Washington for $10. What. The. Fuck.
  20. after listening to it for the millionth time, I realized I need a 7" of Failure's Enjoy the Silence cover. I don't really care if the rest of that album gets pressed.
  21. Canada Post is the worst. $15 to ship it to Vancouver, and I wasn't even phased, this is standard for pretty much everything.
  22. My order from Amazon.ca actually shipped and showed up today, pretty happy, splatter looks great and its mint, no seam splits or anything. I'm assuming it's a second press but I the only difference I can find compared to what's on discogs is the matrix on the B side is a single digit off (128656E2/B instead of 128656E1/B, A side is exactly the same with 128656E1/A). That sound right to anyone with the repress?
  23. If the set is like that Saturday, I'll be happy, I can live through three new songs. did they hire an extra guitarist for the tour, or are they doing all the old stuff with just one guitar?
  24. oh man, I'm all over this. they need to press Theory too.
  25. It think if Denis did this as an INC song I wouldn't give it a second thought. Not so sure about it as a Refused track though. The drums are definitely Refused, maybe half the vocals, but the rest is a bit weak.
