I think you're confusing it with the OST for Sinbad's genie movie, which was 100% vinyl only.

I don't think I've popped in with the big life update yet: We lost an original member of the crew at work which is sad but he is on to better things, but for me this means a new position in the company, I will be the head record/cd buyer, only pricer and record processor so I will fulltime be working with records with the occasional pop in up front to help customers starting next week after I help train the new hires this week. Other duties include repricing things that sit, culling out multiples and keeping track of used record stocks. It's pretty exciting stuff it comes with another raise if I prove myself I was told. Life is good
Also on a huge country rock, jangle pop kick i'm been ferociously buying all the Byrds, Gene Clark, Gram Parsons, Ian Matthews and other related artists I can get my hands on. I did pick up another Fugazi record yesterday just in case you thought I was going all the way soft on you

NapalmBrain reacted to OtherVagOption in Neko Case - Truckdriver, Gladiator, Mule (discography box set)
Still holding out hope those two will be repressed.
@NapalmBrain A rarities collection would be nice at this point.
EDIT: It's fucking criminal that Cub's albums haven't been reissued on vinyl. The CD reissues with bonus tracks were 10 years ago already. It'd be amazing to have a repress of all three of those.

kind of surprised colored remasters of the virginian and canadian amp haven't been done yet, I believe those would be the last 2 unless they want to press the cd only earlier stuff like maow or corn sisters or repress the bloodshot 7" speaking of which since this topic is bumped I finally came across the Car Songs 7" (Whiskeytown split) after a solid 7 years of searching never wanting to pay online prices, it was in pretty decent shape and a lot lower than the typical online prices ($35) had never spent that on one 7" but it's Neko and it's been on my wantlist so long

NapalmBrain reacted to hori in Neko Case - Truckdriver, Gladiator, Mule (discography box set)
So I saw this box set on ebay Tues night for sale with a Buy it Now price of $19.11 (Canadian $). Seller was importcds-ca with a kabillion feedback so bought it figuring it would be cancelled or the wrong record would be sent. It was also free shipping and to my shock arrived today only 2 days later. Needless to say I'm going to be buying a lottery ticket this weekend!

NapalmBrain reacted to DoublesGuy in What's your White Whale record?
I've got two.
First is Face Tat by Zach Hill. I've been trying to find a copy for a not stupid price (there are a few copies on discogs, but the most reasonably priced one won't ship to Canada).
Second is a bit more interesting. I've been trying to find a copy of Dandelion Gum by Black Moth Super Rainbow for some time now. Outside of discogs, I could never seem to find a copy, and with the exchange rate and shipping costs, I could never bring myself to shell out 70$ CAD or more for it used.
I've had copies on order from amazon for awhile with the old "we will deliver it when we have it" warning, and it was cancelled both times several months later. Low and behold, the other morning, around 5 AM, I was up and Amazon had a single, brand new, prime eligible copy for sale. I figured it was an error and bit the bullet. There was no way that a record that has been out of print since 2015 was suddenly found in their warehouse.
Against all odds, it showed up at my door, and strangely, its the plain black version, which is a mail order exclusive according to discogs (whatever that means).
Really glad to finally have it and it sounds fantastic.

NapalmBrain got a reaction from somethingvinyl in SOUL, FUNK, and BLUES Record Thread
Story time, amazing score yesterday, an offer fell through from my shop for this guys collection, a lot of media but the highlight was over 2000 45s in amazing condition of all kinds of genres. Unfortunately those are slow movers and the offer was way out of line with what he wanted so I asked if I could come cherry pick some and he agreed, I spent time with him, listened to some baseball and he sold me 33 45s and 4 LPs of soul, funk, and classic rock for $140 I didn't look up values and only picked things I was personally interested in, the highlight was a VG+ copy of Irma Thomas "Wish Someone Would Care/Break-A-Way" and a VG+ original of Sam & Dave "Hold On, I'm Coming" LP. He is a very sweet man dying from ALS and wants these to go to a good home but does not want his wife to get ripped off if he passes so he is trying to sell these off for as much as he can. From this point forward I am going to be assisting him in selling off the hot ticket items online and would like to extend it to the posters here, I can't sell these for pennies on the dollar he is aware of their market value, but can definitely do a sizable discount. I'll be going back over Tuesday to help pick out his valuable CDs before they are donated for a tax write off if anyone is looking for specific titles for 45s let me know, also the first 4 items in question I'll be selling for him are: Ike & Tina Turner "Dynamite" original mono on sue (VG/NM) as well as their Greatest Hits on sue VG+/NM, (these 2 are OT since it's rock) and for 45s The Crickets "I'm Not The One You Love/Fine As Wine" on Jay-Dee and The Pyramids "Penetration/Here Comes Marsha". Most of his other LPs not mentioned are not in the best shape or very rare titles (Beatles/classic rock fare) but there is a VG+ copy of https://www.discogs.com/Bo-Diddley-Bo-Diddley/release/1535194 as well. So if you are looking for soul, funk, northern soul, classic rock send me specific titles or artists and ill go through the boxes again and pull stuff and perhaps I can make some of your 45 dreams come true. You can peep my recently added in discogs link in my sig for an idea of what I got/types of stuff he might have

unfortunately the LPs are far less impressive, no Etta but there may be some more singles from her, ill also keep that in mind should someone sell it to my store I work for

That's cool of you to do that for the guy. I'm looking for a lot of stuff, but judging by what you've posted there may be a chance that he has a copy of Rocks the House lp by Etta James. It's not impossible to find, but if he has a nice clean copy, I'd be interested. Thanks for posting these and feel free to post up any sale lists here!
