I don't disagree but I see the different phases of Swans as completely separate bands. Filth is fucking great. But so is White Light and also Father. I think thats why I love the band so much: they change and so do I (we). Some albums are better than others but NONE are mediocre. My opinion of course.

This 100%. I saw them on that tour and I swear they both showed me god and curdled my milk. It was exhilarating.

Also strongly agreed on their live sets.  Hearing them workshop Frankie M and being pummeled by power chords and hypnotic grooves for 15 minutes was a top-tier live Swans moment, back in the day.

My favorite band. I go between Cop/The Seer as my favorite release depending on my mood. New track has more of an Angels of Light feel to it. I’m very interested to see if the whole record goes in that direction. 
 
To say say they lose steam playing long songs live is insane. I went to the last three nights  of shows they played in a row in their last incarnation and they have more power and intensity over a three hour set than bands a literal third of their age have in a twenty minute set.

That’s a ton of variety to cover.  SFTB is a dense beast and not at all where I’d point a new listener to, but kudos to you for giving it a whirl.  I love that record but it’s reserved for the right time and the right mood.
 
Post-hiatus Swans - everything after SFTB - is my favorite era of theirs, personally.  Don’t even care if that makes me some kind of late-to-the-party bandwagoner.  The scope and magnitude of Seer / TBK / Glowing Man are unmatched.

Never was huge into Swans but I've been slowly checking out the highly-rated stuff recently. Slowly because they require time. I had The Great Annihilator when that was their newest record, liked it ok, but not enough to stay interested in them. Having revisited that one lately it's pretty great. 

Think he just means he canceled his BM order cause this is $40 cheaper. 

Yeah, I’m a total hypocrite because I’ll buy stuff like the Slowdive reissues on MOV.
 
BUT those are incredibly expensive for original pressings. I reckon first pressings of this don't go for much more than the reissue, probably less.

I've got both, but haven't had time to compare them. RSD variant still sealed. But you're right the MOV is superb!

Curious how BK will sound vs the MOV reissue (which sounds fantastic).

I love the idea of a box and would probably jump on it if it was available outside of the US (Fuck importing a boxset) that said kind of miffed they didn't announce this before dropping Bloody Kisses. I could have waited. I'm partly holding out hope that each album will in turn get an individual run so I can cherry pick now that I already have Bloody Kisses.

Well if any of these hard to find titles came from Warner, they still are arriving at stores. Apparently Warner changed distro setup and lots of stores did not get shipments in time. I know Lost in Translation and the Crow were on that list.....we were handed a sheet of at least 40 releases on that list that we paid for upfront and could pick up after RSD.....those LPs still have not arrived....I would definitely not spend a penny over retail on the Warner releases and just wait patiently. There was a thread somewhere on Hoffman about this and I'm just passing info on again. Hopefully it saves one of you from over paying

Don't need this but I have the Mussolini Headkick record and its great. I've been banned twice from Insta for posting when I play it.

It's better than Some Cities. There. I said it. I might even pass on SC if there's a reissue campaign.
I would spend crazy money on box-set versions of all the albums, though, with all the remixes, b-sides, etc.
