Yes from 2005 to 2012. They had the greatest postal system. It was privatized. They delivered 7 days a week until 9 pm each day. If delivery time is 2 pm and you get a package at 5 pm, they would bring it over for delivery. If they missed you, they'd leave a note and if you call back before 6 pm, they would redeliver it that day by 9 pm. If not, the mail is stored at a 24 post office you can pick up any time. They treated all packages with extreme care. Many sellers don't use mailers, sometimes just plastic bags with some bubble wrap. Nothing was ever damaged.

I recently got into vinyl, hence my pathetically small collection. But no worries! I'm definitely working on that.

What are you asking? How to know whether albums include digital downloads with them or not? Unless it's specified on a sticker on the packaging, or on the website's page where you order the vinyl, there's really no way to know. If there is some sort of download with the vinyl, it will usually be stated in one of those places.

It's a reasonable question because in higher-end vinyl, like the Misfits stuff I collect, shrink can make a real difference in the price.
 
To answer the question, I always remove shrink unless its a higher end record that I might resell.

You can order alot of mailers from USPS
 
There are methods around the internet that demonstrate how to cut correctly around an LP and you can double package it using all free materials from the USPS. USPS will even deliver boxes to you. Order large boxes and cut 12 1/2 squares just make sure you're using actual cardboard and not the flimsy envelopes and double that up for extra protection.

There's also a post on the boards here but I can't find it. The man in that video cuts squares out makes sure it's taped well around the edges.

I scored a copy of Danzig I on discogs a couple years back for $8 - yes $8 - cuz dude said the sleeve was water damaged and the vinyl "barely played through without skipping", but damned if I could find any evidence of water damage and after I cleaned the record it sounded mint. sometimes you get lucky.

If you are willing to buy fakes, it doesn't surprise me you think they sound good.

What a bargain, only $30 for a copy of the single that he scribbled on. That's probably the only good song he's done in over 15 years but who would pay that much for a signed single from a washed up rock star?
