Not sure how it is a fiasco? You just don't know if you are one of the first 200. If you really need a colored version of this I guess rough trade would be one way to go but then you have to worry about getting it in one piece.

I think it is just because they may oversell a few since so many orders will be going through at the same time. Probably just giving a people a heads up because some record collectors seem to be the least reasonable people on the planet.

They gave out 100 of them randomly with preorders

I always love these threads turn into "these type of flippers suck" but "these people who sell stuff for lots of money are ok," aka the what I do is ok but what others do that prevent me from getting something I want is shitty.
I think the people who buy records they think are going to be valuable and keep them sealed nicely sitting on a shelf are just as bad as the person who buys it and puts it right up in ebay. Really what is the point of keeping a record sealed other to maintain value to sell later or to keep as a trophy. At least with a short term flipper someone might buy it to actually listen to it and enjoy it.

No real reason to preorder this, looking forward to getting a copy locally.

Remember when most of these were going to be available only for like a month long preorder then they were never going to be available again according to Daytrotter

The only time I would consider post count it is in helping out someone scoring something. If someone has a bunch of posts they are a member of this community more and you know if they are a good person, a fan who will actually play the record or you know if they are an asshole who just wants you to pick them up a $25 record so they can turn around and put it on eBay for $100.

Used to bother me but I know so many people don't open their records on here. Pretty much anyone who uses the word hobby or collection are more then likely to keep something valuable sealed as a trophy or for a future flip. Oh well though if you own it do with it as you please.

Pulled the trigger, I've been wanting and tracking this album for over a decade and this is probably around the cheapest I've seen it.
So now that I've bought one you guys can expect the announcement of a reissue any day now.

I don't think the "Holliday crowd" is doing that. I would expect someone who only shops around RSD to freak out if they haven't gotten a confirmation number or haven't heard anything in a day or so. I would expect anyone who has been around to know what a cluster duck rsd has become in store and online and expect these stores that have a handful of employees are going to be completely overwhelmed and are dealing with a million emails and phone calls from collectors who think they are the only people who matter or people crying about a slightly dinged corner or whatever bullshit people complain about here that means nothing(this is not directed towards anyone in this thread).

Since this thread took a turn to flipping, am I the only one who thinks there is little difference between flippers and collectors who keep records sealed? Both really don't care about the music and are preventing someone from actually listening to the album, he'll with a flipper someone might actually buy it and listen to it. Also, what is the point of keeping a record sealed except hoping it goes up in value, just a long term flip.
