  1. Man, I keep forgetting to check out that Joel Plaskett album. I really, really dig him.
  2. Hmm... Cassettes: Mr. Big - Lean Into It REM - Out Of Time Prince - Diamonds And Pearls single First cd I had ever bought was Garth Brooks - In Pieces, '93 or something. And I'd do it all over again if I had the chance.
  3. Sorry to hear, man. I lost my dad to cancer in 2001 and it tore me apart. Still does. Hopefully you're surrounded by loved ones, and can remember all the good your mom brought to all of your lives; celebrate her memory. Good vibes your way.
  4. What makes you say that? Their wording is indeed confusing, and it has it listed as a 1999 release, but I'm guessing both are mistakes. I can't find any info regarding a 1999 repress, leading me to believe they mean 1997. And the 'repress' that got slipped into one of the descriptions is a mistake as well, as far as I can tell. I'm not a connoisseur of this release at all, but it's my guess that it is indeed original.
  5. Whaaaat?! Did not know this. You guys are truly one of the best labels out there, both in sound, and quality of releases. I will sorely miss you.
  6. Just sent you a pm. Trying to figure out what exactly you were getting at with this. Let me know when you receive it.
  7. I for one am a proponent of labels/artists making their own threads. Probably 89/100 times I'm not going to check out a mass/catch all thread. When I check in on the website, I look over the new threads, and see if there's anything worth looking at(Dead Broke/Bloated Kat, as of recent). Everything that's merged in the RSD deal I don't like looking at, because I cannot stand sifting through all the bullshit. All for non-merges(within reason). What exactly is it clogging up?
  8. Thanks for the heads up on this! I definitely won't be able to go to a record shop and pick this up, so if anyone is willing/able to snag a copy, I'd love to have one. Also, funnily enough, the picture of this on Frontier's Facebook page included a pic of a download card, which worked. I just downloaded this, and so far it's pretty great.
  9. From https://dykedrama.bandcamp.com : Dyke Drama is the solo project of Sadie Switchblade (G.L.O.S.S., Peeple Watchin', Baja Blatz, etc.) She played drums, bass, guitars, tambourine, and sang. Joey Seward played the organ. Vicky Cassis and Rosie Richeson sang backup on "The Thing I Do Best" and "Thelma & Louise". Free download, and available for pre-order from Salinas: http://www.salinasrecords.com/collections/41812-all-products/products/14244162-dyke-drama-tender-resignation-12 Great great ep.
  10. That was informative, but I'm still lost on all the big three year old jargon. Explain it to me like I'm two.
  11. A few copies from the first press(S1D) available here https://sideonedummy.com/product/violent-soho-hungry-ghost-lp-1st-pressing-2014/297 I for one am happy because I missed out completely on earlier pressings.
  12. The odd thing is, I've never, not once had a damaged record arrive from overseas when sent in in one of those mailers. It's very queer, but makes me think there might be something to the slim packaging detail/inability to get crushed/bent easily/falls incognito into packing matrices easier . I dunno
  13. This would be a version of my own personal hell. Stuck in a room with these albums playing on loop.
  14. really excited to get this/the lyric book in the mail. I won't stop singing praises about this album.
  15. I'm actually curious now. Fifty miles on a bike? Each way? I'm not saying you didn't do it, but my heavens, my wife commutes 40+ miles each way/day. No way in hell I could visualize myself on a bike for that car ride.
  16. I think I've seen more shows by myself than I have with others. Then again, almost no one I know shares my musical tastes, outside of my brother. I've never once felt self conscious.
