  1. yeah good question. i just couldnt get into them and i loved the first two and just felt extremely let down by Local Business. Its possible that clouded my opinion on the next two albums because i didnt give them much time but just never felt it, so to speak. Im going to relisten to them all and maybe the growth that was needed was mine and not theirs.
  2. its a shame. Grievances and Monitor is one of the great 1-2 punches of the last decade. Everything since has been borderline unlistenable. That single sounds pedestrian and ordinary, certainly not worth 3000 words in stereogum.
  3. isnt the whole thing pretentious and for attention?
  4. hey just wondering if this servicewhas aged well. anybody still subscribe to this?
  5. i got my store login within about 30 minutes of signing up so 24-48 hours isnt likely
  6. i got you @Gumbo72203. I like PFS and L&M and enjoy I Hear Sirens as well. I still stand by my ranking of "Reanimation" as my favorite record of 2013, even though my tastes have evolved since then. I enjoy some aspects of pop music, especially power pop, and I get a visceral feeling from some of the more crescendo-oriented post rock music that I get when I hear a great chorus, bridge or refrain in a pop song. Its not all great or innovative and there is plenty of redundancy, but when something clicks, its something ill go back to over and over. not to relitigate "is post-rock dead" but just my $0.02
  7. 120 g black vinyl only shipping option $13 priority mail so i think i can wait for it in B&M for sure
  8. yeah i think the sound is as much the mastering as the pressing but could be convinced otherwise with the right copy i guess

  10. stupid question but has anyone not gotten their order yet?

  13. would love to get a splatter or starburst if anyone is selling
  14. is this the thing where you can deplete the store stock by adding them all to your cart? If so, stop the madness!
  15. havent seen if night flowers has been mentioned since this post but Im in love with their debut LP (Wild Notion) black vinyl available from UK but Ill wait until some copies show up stateside perhaps. My favorite dream pop/shoegaze of the year, not reinventing the wheel but still v good RIYL Pains of being Pure, Beach House, Alvvays https://nightflowers.bandcamp.com/album/wild-notion
  16. just reminds me that discogs needs a "items in your wantlist" feature when browsing a users collection i know why they dont do it but man it would be nice when trying to buy things
  17. well the show was fantastic. Julien is clearly the headliner but Lucy ands Phoebe easily could be as well. All brought great energy. 8-9 songs from each, about 45-50 minute sets, followed by the entire boygenius EP (all six songs). 3 hours 45 minutes but never felt too long. Hard to say if that will remain consistent throughout the tour but what a great show, would recommend it highly.
  18. 50 splatter per show there were only a few left when I went through so I didn’t try to buy two but some of the very early people did (I was there an hour early and the line was 50 deep), I suspect these won’t be impossible to come by, likely /1000 at worst
