i think this is part of the implied agreement though.  Not everything put out by Think Indie (or whoever) will be in demand, so many of these distro/store types have extra copies of things they cant sell.  When it comes to something in demand, I suspect they have some leeway to "explore the market", especially if said store has been a good supporter of the wholesaler in the past.  I mean its a dick move from where we sit, but its not like record stores are raking it in overall.

maybe, maybe not...but it makes absolutely zero sense for a brick and mortar shop to sell this on line (or honor preorders), when the item is this rare and in such high demand

doolittle is a perfect album, and I remember buying it the day it came out.  changed my life and i still listen to it regularly.  you have made a wise choice.

now, im all for a moderate-sized record stores ability to repress these great albums and provide something unique to the people that want to pay for it.  its actually pretty innovative, and im not sure how they manage to license some of these, but thats beside the point. the prices have not historically been unreasonable, when you factor in limited runs and market demands, although this one is pushing it.
 
with that said, they definitely price their items and adjust the prices based upon the secondary market.  i cant believe they are selling their remaining copies of bon iver - for emma for $65
