Just got back from a weekend in Chicago and saw the Thursday show. Just my .02 as a more casual fan, but I thought the show was nowhere close to good. He got pissed during the opener, (presumably) because of a sound issue and they closed the curtains back up. The first few songs he seemed really pissed off, and there was little flow/energy throughout the first 70 minutes before he left prior to the encore. His 'how many know about John Lee Hooker?' monologue had some idiot near the front yelling 'just shut up and play'! There was so much noodling/medleys/talking. It reminded me of seeing Buddy Guy, who pretty much plays snippets for the 75 minutes he's out there. But Buddy is twice JW's age. The show did seem to get more flow/energy as the night went on, but I don't know if I'd pay to see him again. Go ahead and flame now.

I've been completely hooked since last fall. I bought season tickets to my local team (MN United!), MLS Live subscription, and can't wait for PL to start 4 weeks from tomorrow. Women's WC is in Canada next year. Winnipeg isn't too far away...hmmm......

It sounds like you're already doing what you can. The first thing I learned from my better half when she comes home upset is that I don't need to try and provide answers. More often than not it's fine to just be there when she's venting. Sometimes our instinct is to try and make everything better with solutions but they aren't always welcomed The biggest thing she can do is keep her head up and try to be patient. Nobody should expect her to know everything just yet, so realize that she will get there in time. As for nobody knowing what she's supposed to be doing, hopefully she's ok with asking her supervisor/manager what her priorities should be and setting up something of a routine. There is nothing wrong with being assertive and communicating any concerns she has - it's a two way street, and hopefully the new employer wants her to be comfortable. Maybe have a quick check-in each morning with her boss to establish tasks for the day. Two days isn't enough imo to write a place off. I hope it turns around for the better!

I think it's smart for established companies to do this sometimes. They get to gauge demand for something with little or no risk. Many of the Kickstarter backers don't know (or care) if they have the means to launch the product without it, they just like being backers.
