  1. Very nice video tribute to Pat Quinn at the ACC tonight. He did so much for the game. If there is one thing the Leafs are great at, it's remembering the past.
  2. I guess Lucic is only 'engaged in a fight' if he doesn't get dropped first.
  3. I wouldn't bother calling back. Send a detailed email of everything that has happened to their contact address and politely ask if they can resolve it to your satisfaction. You'll be guaranteed that multiple people will see it, and it's much more like imo that you'll get taken care of.
  4. Anyone else see the promo the Bakersfield Condors did last night? Seinfeld night, with the players wearing puffy-shirt jerseys with character names on the backs. The hilarious thing is that their radio team called the game using those names, so it would be stuff like ...."Uncle Leo back to the point.....Newman with the slapshot!!" They also had the 'low-talker' do the visiting team lineup call, as well as a player interview. Genius promo imo.
  5. This movie is going to blow, just like the second Ace Ventura.
  6. Good point about being out of sync. Sometimes it's 2-3 minutes behind for me. Now who wants an NHL adult onesie? Can't imagine being sober and wearing this out of the house, especially for $100 https://tsnshop.ca/page/search?s=onesie&x=0&y=0
  7. They ever going to sell those Budweiser ones in the U.S? I want the wifi version to hear when Toronto(not often) or the Wild score.
  8. Lol....Bridgeport goalie dislodges net instead of facing a 2 on 0. Gets delay of game but stops the penalty shot. Totally bush league but genius at the same time.
  9. Arrgh.....Charles Sims isn't playing this week. Picked him up for the bye week and now I can't pick up a replacement. So I'll be the moron starting both Bell and Legarrette Blount. Ugh.
  10. It's cool that people are getting the cca gigs. I did the carrier thing for about 9 months and left to go back to a M-F gig. I miss being skinny from all the walking but that's about it. Joking aside, most people have zero idea how physically demanding the job is. And I'm including those carriers with driving routes. The stereotype is of some slacker just strutting around in the sun petting dogs, but it's not a job for most people. The first 90 days I was there (I was a career not temp) I was at the mercy of mgmt, and working 6 days/week. When you are going out on routes and don't know the area, you'd find yourself falling behind each day, and they have scan points to monitor your progress. It could get pretty stressful trying to do a regular route plus 2 extra hours when you're figuring out where you're going half the time. Mgmt was just looking for a reason to let people go. There was a Marine in my same group. She threw in the towel after about 2 months(and in no way am I implying I was tougher). It was right before the holidays when half our trucks were filled up with xmas gifts. Of the 40+ carriers in the office I worked at probably half had issues. For those with walking routes, 6-8 miles/day wears on the joints, and no matter what slips/falls/injuries happen no matter how careful you were. Plenty of knee/hip replacments and back issues. As for driving routes? Imagine sitting in a right-side drive vehicle and reaching over to your left a few hundred times a day. Great way to get repetitive motion injuries, which contributed to shoulder and arm problems for some. And all of that isn't even taking the weather into account. 65 and sunny? Awesome! Zero degrees, windy, two feet of snow and tubs of advertisements? Doesn't matter - you better figure out a way to get done just as quickly. Also, many of these jobs are ex-military, since they get a bump on the test score. So be nice to 'em when they drop off your bent in half vinyl
  11. I'm up by one point. Tonight I have: Cowboys kicker and Garcon opponent has: Cowboys D and Morris. ......need Garcon to show up!
  12. As for AP - got a trade situation in my league. Seems veto-able to me but opinions please.... Team A: 1-5 record, trades AP to Team B: 4-2 record, gives up Victor Cruz(IR) IMO, no legitimate reason for this snce Team A gains nothing, and there is still a 1% chance AP plays this year.
  13. Anyone else use eSnipe or that type of thing? To me that can help mask interest and I've snagged a few things pretty cheap. Bid your absolute max on eSnipe, set it to auto-bid 3-5 seconds before the end of the auction = problem solved.
  14. Oh wow...wish I could have snagged one too......
  15. Another vote for the Japanese Garden, but also consider the Pittock Mansion nearby too. Even if you don't want to spend the $10 to see the inside of the house(totally worth it), you can walk the grounds for free and the city/Mt Hood views are AWESOME. http://pittockmansion.org/
  16. Yeah good call indeed. I started Lee over Sankey so that's not looking smart so far.
  17. Anyone else stashing Josh Gordon? Supposedly there's a chance he plays this year if the NFL and the Union can get a deal done asap re: HGH and higher testing levels for weed.
  18. Scrambles are such a good time. Totally agree about speed of the game. I have no interest in being out on the course 5 hours, and too many people out there dick around looking for their horrid tee shots that go 50 yards into the woods.
  19. Yep they take you out there in a wooden boat. The crazy thing is that the green is on cables, so they can adjust the hole distance. The greens fees are pretty steep ($225/$150 twilight), but that includes a forecaddie for the group(finds balls, fixes marks, tells distance), pre-round sports massage, and unlimited range balls. The other cool thing is that the range is on the lake, so everything is hit into the water and the balls float. For anyone in the area not looking to pay those green fees, they have a 9 hole (unadvertised) deal every day. $69 for 9 holes (plus the floating green), and all the other stuff above.
  20. I haven't played this year, but am going out to Idaho to play this next week. I'll be putting a few in the bottom of the lake.
  21. Fascinating article. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/10/magazine/the-brazilian-bus-magnate-whos-buying-up-all-the-worlds-vinyl-records.html
