Keeping my fingers crossed I can get this on HT's half off sale. Time will tell.

I don't think the warping has much to do with the heat, hence why the boxes look like theyve been run over.. My package also sat outside all day while i was at work in 92 degree heat with no warping, just sleeve damage that happened because of damage to the mailer and no protection for the LP.
Of course USPS is mainly to blame when so many packages show up looking like they were carried across the desert on horseback. Hell maybe a cardboard insert might have helped, maybe it wouldn't have. My main point is I got charged five bucks for shipping and got a $1 packing job. If I ever sold and packed a record like this on here I would for sure end up in terrible traders/sellers thread, so I really dont see why some of the responsibility shouldnt fall on Flood. People do tend to get very butthurt however when anybody raises issues or concerns with a distro or label that they like, even though it's completely valid. (to reiterate my earlier post: I'm not requesting a refund or replacement, I still love asbestos releases and will continue to buy from them)
I don't think he'd dodge it either, he knows they could have been packed better, which is why he is offering refunds/replacements. Good for him, problem solved. I'll still come on here and vent though, not only because I'm bored with the day off, but because that's what this freakin board is meant for.

I caught an ABC News national broadcast video of this "incident" and here's my thoughts.
Again, fuck these kids.
BUT!
The woman clearly sucks at her job. She's on that bus to make sure kids aren't fucking around and harassing people. They targeted her, so she obviously was aware of it, and she said NOTHING! She sat there and tried to ignore it and look out the window. She even said in the interview she tried to ignore them and hope they'd go away. They didn't, because they knew they were getting to her and she didn't try to stop them. Her job is to prevent bullying, and she's obviously terrible at it, and it escalated because of that. I'd put every cent I own on the fact that it's been an escalating thing for 9 months because she didn't deal with earlier incidents effectively.
I work with kids every day between teaching, working for my town parks department, and coaching multiple teams. This shit happens EVERY day, but it does not escalate because someone intervenes, whether it's the kid/person being bullied, a peer or bystander, or an adult. If you just sit there and take it like she did, things get out of hand.
Yes, it sucks that this happened. It sucks that the kids are idiots and assholes. But I have a very hard time finding sympathy for her and it's disgusting that she's about to get $500,000 for sucking at her job. She better not keep more than a thousand or two, and even that is disgusting. It all better end up given to charity.

I don't know much, but when it comes to this I've tried using my speed adjustment to sync a vinyl with an mp3 and have never been able to successfully do it. As close as it gets, it always loses sync after at least a minute or so. I would guess it's going to be virtually impossible to set it exactly at 33 1/3rpm, another one of those imperfections that comes along with the media IMO. I would just try to get it as close to a digital/CD version as possible
I think direct drive tables are far more accurate on the default speed setting than a belt drive that has the same adjustment. When I had a belt drive stanton, the default speed setting actually put the song into a different key entirely (about a half-step higher, I had to slow it way down to get it back to normal). But I imagine all tables are different in this regard, and I'm not comparing high-end belt drive tables since those usually don't have a speed adjustment.

For haters of the blue: one of the mods posted a few days back that you can click on "change theme" at the bottom of the page and choose the color blind option and it turns it grey. Not that it changes the different formatting.
And yes, it does seem much slower since the switch.
