deadreckoning
i think we all can agree that the definition of emo has changed over the years... from "these guys actually talk about their feelings" to "these whiny guys talk about their feelings too much" to "how does one make screaming sound whiny" to bad pop-punk to tight pants and stupid haircuts... that said, i think Crucial Youth's definition is still the best, "Mature" music made by cigarette-puffing ex-straightedgers. Heavy on the soul searching, hard to mosh to.
rtw88
This thread got shittier even quicker than I imagined it would. I'll post some of my faves that people might not know. I couldn't find it on youtube but you can add No Knife - Silver Spring to this list.

parkinglot
Broken World Media is having a 30% off sale on everything, and the code stacks on top of the already awesome random LP/7"/Cassette deals they have. I'm not sure if it's supposed to though. Code is: BURNEVERYTHING

Breaded
god, i can't stand Brave Bird. the singer is so high and mighty and seems to think his music is the second coming of American Football. some of the interviews/facebook posts from them are just whiny and insufferable. However the dude finger picks the shit out of an electric guitar while singing spot on. I respect him for that, and I just really enjoy their music. I also rarely watch band interviews. ̮ ɤ ̮
For everyone whose into American Football I'd recommend Penpal. If I'm not mistaken some (if not all) of them played in Marquette before. 6heart6breaker6

Ballisticgoat
I don't think this has been posted yet, and I'm sorry if it has, but Patron Saint Of Bridge Burners is fantastic. Just rediscovered this last week after looking through a lot of music I haven't listened to in a couple years or so. http://patronsaint.bandcamp.com/album/sorry I also realized today that my copy of Home, Like Noplace Is There is warped. It arrived last week so I'd feel awkward asking for a replacement or something from Tiny Engines. So this will be the first time I've tried to flatten out a record. Gavins
Cmon guys, I Hate Myself is the best emo band out there!
̮ ɤ ̮
Probably not a typical emo band, but I think The Edsel Auctioneer fit in here pretty well. If I had to classify them I'd say they played a mix of emotional indie rock with shoegaze and noise elements.
brianmorgante
I think anyone that appreciates this thread would appreciate the band Raintree. Listen to their entire new full length here. If you're into it, pick a copy up here!
