kk-downing
I wasn't really paying attention to song titles and I was in the middle of other things too. I'm going to give it a closer listen tonight. Bomb string, my friend. Bomb string. Basically that track is the new Tarpit Carnivore.

monsterrod
Yeah, I already cheated and downloaded it to my phone. Man, I am really enjoying this album. I don't think they'll ever have another Meanderthal, but this is a burner. It was pretty cool of Relapse to send the code over and let us know about the delay. yancey47
I ordered up the black 180 gram 2 LP and am stalking my postman.
recordsofthedamned
Fuck Pirates Press! The vinyl pressing (180 gram black) is so muddy it sounds like shit. Mp3s sound really good though. FUCK GZ manufacturing, their records sound so bad. kk-downing and kurtz

monsterrod
Oh man, that's a Bummer. I ordered the GITD set and if the black sounds like shit, I can't imagine how bad the GITD is going to sound.
glass realms
Just listened to my silver vinyl press. It sounds fine to me. Not muddy at all.
radiatorhums
Just listened to my silver vinyl press. It sounds fine to me. Not muddy at all. My A side has a ton of surface noise, even though it's noticeable throughout most of it. It also appears to have a real mild warp, so I'm assuming that's the cause. I emailed Relapse yesterday in hopes of getting a first disc replacement.
youspinmeround
I have played this game with relapse before they make you send it back to "test" it before they send a replacement. At least the 2 times I did. Their color options usually sound like crap
radiatorhums
Ugh, I hope that isn't the case. I haven't had any issues with previous releases and for what it's worth, my color ones normally sound a-ok.
GHOSTDRONES
Glad I didn't jump on this... I don't really like Relapse's vinyl releases.
GHOSTDRONES
That said... I will plunk down money for a Times of Grace reissue
Gippej
I wish labels realize most of us would pay a little extra to cover the costs of using a higher quality pressing plant. you have like a 75% chance of a pirate press release having at least a mild warp. plasma36
Pirate's isn't even cheap though, they just have lots of fancy color options for collectors to geek out over. I'm pretty sure Rainbo is comparable in price and their records sound much better.
museummouth
My silver copy sounds great.

I'm pretty sure Rainbo is comparable in price and their records sound much better. You haven't ordered anything from Epitaph lately have you. All kidding aside I'm not sure what it is with GZ manufacturing but they press some stuff that sounds great and some stuff that sounds flat. Most of the stuff I have from them is the former, but it's been more hit or miss lately With Rainbo I feel like it depends on what the label decides to use for laquers. Stuff SideOneDummy puts out sounds great and stuff from Epitaph sounds terrible. Same plant and wildly different results.
Gippej
My copy came in the mail today, and of course, it's warped. Going to see if I can get a replacement copy. Also, the "mint green" is just a normal translucent green, so that was rather disappointing. As far as the sound quality goes, it's not terrible. emacs
My green/purple merge came a few days ago, no surface noise and not muddy at all. It's really quiet though, I have to turn up my volume almost three times as much as most of my other records for it to be on the same level. Pretty happy for the $19 I paid. Also has more dick robots than any of my other vinyl, so that's cool.

seanicus
I picked up an Indie store copy via a local store today and it is on kelly green, not mint. This is irrelevant, as it sounds great. I tried to order an orange copy, but couldn't get the Green Hell site to work. I was extremely happy when I saw an orange copy (limited to 100) up on Relapse's Discogs page. It was only $19.99, so I saved around $30 not importing it. Now I just need to snag a clear copy of the 2xLP and my need for variants will be satiated. Gippej
Well bullmoose agreed to replace my warped copy (best company ever), so I'm stoked on that and hoping I have better luck with this new copy. All problems with the vinyl aside, this album rules. Wish I would've known about that orange copy on relapse's discogs.com page though, oh well. youspinmeround
Got a black today because I do not care about variants. Good pressing don't think this is muddy at all...this album is just heavy and thick sounding
