btelg
Preview of the song Albuquerque went live today on NPR: http://www.npr.org/2015/09/09/438596919/songs-we-love-iron-wine-albuquerque
bannedinjapan
This is an auto-buy for me. Love that old, lo-fi, 4-track stuff of his. Same. That stuff was all so great! I still def think he's talented, but he kinda lost me with each progressive album after he started doing studio recordings. But THIS, I can totally get into. simple_torture
Love how the artwork on this is the same style as "Two Sides of George."
DC1221
yep... same artist... can't recall the name right now but I believe its a chicago based artist or design firm.

x_doublealbumyeti_x
Kind of forgot about it to be honest. But i did enjoy Albuquerque quite a bit. So looking forward to it getting here.
simple_torture
Woulda been happy with either color...but I'm on team lime green!
timsimmons
Got green as well. It's a really cool green too. It really could be described as Lemon lime. It's like a coke bottle clear but more yellow than blue

DC1221
Looks like Volume 3 of this series will be an LP of some sort. Set to release on blue vinyl on Record Store Day. No word on actual content, but my best guess is some of the leftover/demo material from the early Calexico sessions.
timsimmons
Given the price (granted in euros), and compared to most RSD releases, I'm guessing it's a 12" EP. If I recall, the price was €18. Unless Sam is being awesome and charging a low price, no way is it a single LP worth of material.
DC1221
Oh damn, I hadn't seen a price listed.
timsimmons
Yeah just went and looked, it's $18 USD and red room (the poster of the list said the guy he got it from marks up 20-30%. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a 12" with 3-5 tracks. That's seems about right for the price on RSD. Who knows though. It's limited to 700 (maybe in Europe?), so that price seems low for something so limited. Im sure we'll know more in the week or so when the list drops. DC1221
Volume 4 of this Archives Series is a tour-only orange pressing of the acoustic Shepherd's Dog home demos.

Ahhhhh! I have to miss this weekend's show at The Warfield in SF because I'll be at a wedding down in Big Sur. If anyone (either in SF or other tour stop) is able to pick one of these up for me I'd really appreciate it. PM and we can figure out payment details. Dang, I need to snag one of those! If anyone can help a dude out, lemme kno. They didn’t have these at the louisville show in August Edited October 16, 2017 by PookdaddyG
achillesstand7
I'd love to get this if it ever makes it way online.
simple_torture
That does look sweet; hopefully it's available somewhere else at some point.
ejc625
Just saw them live last month too. Hate this wasn’t available.
ntslash
Saw them on Saturday. Had no idea this existed. I grabbed a copy but haven't opened it yet. Had no idea it was an orange wax.
BeardedSteven
That stinks it's a tour only thing. Maybe they will put the leftovers after the tour up online. Hopefully they made enough for the demand...
DC1221
As an Iron & Wine completest this is somewhat frustrating, as he isn't stopping in Philadelphia on this tour. DC is sold out and tickets are $120 on stubhub. Looks like I'll be obsessively checking discogs. niblips
timsimmons
I wouldn't be surprised if they sell extras on their site when the tour is done. Hell, the RSD single only had 700 copies and its not hard to get one that far above cost. I suspect this will be just as easy.

I was hoping it was going to be a Black Friday release as well as this tour release.....guess not though. He's not even playing Canada anytime soon.....
