If someone agrees with you, rather than filling up the thread with: "Yup, I totally agree," posts, hitting an upvote takes care of that. If you just downvote, people don't know what the deal is. It's like if you said a few things in person and instead of someone speaking up about why they disagree they just glare at you from the corner, or walk up and slap you and walk away. Sorry I have long gave up on trying to argue with idealist online, but if anyone wants to sit down and have a real conversation about my Olympic year only interest in politics I will gladly expand on my thoughts beyond up and down votes. Stating your opinion doesn't have to be an argument all the time and you're free to ignore whichever users you want. It's just frustrating to go through the thread openly talking about things that may matter to some people, only to have someone who isn't participating in the conversation hit you with a bunch of downvotes, but not contribute anything about their opinions. The up/downvotes themselves don't matter to me...it's just a stupid forum after all, and I could take all your downvotes every day for the next year and not end up in the negative anyway, it's just the non-contribution coupled along with them that makes it seem kind of...childish I guess. It's not quite the word I'm looking for but I'm kind of sick and I'm not feeling myself/able to fully formulate what I'm trying to say right now. I mean, it's your prerogative. You're welcome to just continue doing what you do. Just one of those things, I guess. I surprisingly actually enjoy your contributions to the site for the most part even if your ideals differ from mine. However there is too many posts saying "crooked Hillary" , "all cops are bad cops" and so on and so forth. These comments come from both sides. And just make a discussion difficult for me. Plus while just checking the thread at work it is much easier to let my votes do my talking over taking extensive time to debate things point by point. I do appreciate your thoughts on how I post, I will keep it in mind. welll I'm now off work for the week so I'll be back next Monday to be barreted for whatever I do wrong next. I assure you I have absolutely no interest in learning about your thoughts or opinions on the matter. This is solely based on your attitude around here in general as well the fact that you just blast the downvote button and once in a while chime in with some extremely childish or ridiculous comment. WAXX and I dont even agree on a lot of things, but I respect his opinions because he actually spends time educating himself on these issues and backs his statements up with information. He also doesn't instantly resort to name calling and sarcasm as an initial response. "Spewing hate," people need stop assuming VC is a safespace or something. Everyone here has differing prospectives and opinions and it would 100% suck if we all agreed on everything.
