voodooman595
I'm excited for the Gogol Bordello and Flogging Molly releases. I wish the Mountain Goats were releasing a record rather than a DVD though. And no Flight of the Conchords this year.

timwt
Because record stores sell CDs? Yeah, but who buys them?
AlexH.
CDs still make up the majority of music sales, and are the predominant physical format for most people. Vinyl is less than 1% of all music sales. Plus, reliable legitimate sources for lossless digital music are still spotty, so CDs still make sense for a lot of people who would shop at record stores. smashingpimp01
ultra-noob question but how do I know which stores will be carrying what? I doubt all stores are getting a copy of what was listed. I know in the participating stores link they have a shop near me on there that only sells old/used records. Pretty much I really want to try and locate that Flaming Lips record and the Bright Eyes record if it gets released. I live an hour away from BK/NYC too, any large stores there that would have a better selection?

I live an hour away from BK/NYC too, any large stores there that would have a better selection? generally the stores put in orders for most of these and they simply get what they get from their distributors...kind of a crap shoot, but go into your local store and tell them what you're wanting from the list to make sure they add it to their order...and if you're a regular they might be able to hook you up, but get up early and wait for them to open and be the first person in line to make sure!
