Waiting for my Ruca and 40 oz, both have excessive surface noise and even some distortion throughout. After those songs it seems to get a little better, but the surface noise never completely goes away. And yes, I cleaned the discs before playing, and have attempted to clean them several times since. This hasn't been my experience, and I consider myself mild to severely paranoid about distortion, sibilance, IGD, etc. Maybe it's an issue with your TT/cartridge alignment?
