someasiandude
i've never done it but you could literally walk anything out of Urban Outfitters, i mean when you check out, they give you the option to e-mail your receipt. How the hell do they know that the stuff in your bag is yours??
sabukweli
Discogs for older stuff (which is how I voted), and usually label (pre-)orders for new stuff. I probably have more from Discogs at this point though. I've also ordered quite a bit from shopradiocast.
hipsterasfolk
Wish you can mutli select. I would say I buy a fair share of indie/crust from local shops but then Pop Punk and others I buy from bands or websites.
supafly
I like to support my local record store as much as I can but most old stuff I get on discogs.
kyacrash
Unfortunately, my answer is ebay. There are no local record stores near me, and I like rare/obscure shit. After ebay would be online distros and labels' websites.
lupe
backside records - Burbank, CA amoeba - Hollywood, CA went to touché amore record release show at backside records, remember going growing up and Jeremy from TA work there for a while, pretty dope local shop. have actually ran into him @ backside and told him about when he use to work there and when he played guitar in this band called "peanut sandwich...." something like that haha ,that Guys awesome
btr001
I'd say even split between online sources and local shops
gumbycross
I use to buy a lot from ebay and discogs but now if I can get it at a record store that's where I go. If I can get my local shop to order a record for me I usually do that as well. What use to be my first choices (ebay and discogs) are now pretty much my last resort. There are special circumstances of course with limited edition pressings and such.
moonbeams
I buy most from Discogs and eBay. If a record I want is available from its label, then I will support the label directly. For bigger releases, I will go through Amazon.jp and save on shipping. Sometimes I go to record stores, but I don't have much time and I don't want to buy any additional records that I don't know about.

lonesomexloveus
no brick and mortar stores close to me, so mostly online, and mostly from labels directly. i don't think i've ever purchased a record from ebay.
somber_silt
Labels directly Explanation: I usually look for the most or a more limited variation of a record and therefore the label itself is a good source.
jblahmaster
When i can, i buy from Waterloo. When i can't, i have to buy online, only because the record store here price gouges on a lot of releases.

tylerrr
I buy from a lot of different places, but if I know a band I want to get something from will be in town I almost always try to get it from them so as to give them money for gas and what not.
