Bladewillisisdead
Went and saw 22 Jump Street last week. Not quite as great as the first one,, but definitely hilarious and worth watching. I'm so stoked that Lord and Miller are blowing up in the last couple years. A Clone High revival now seems like a thing that could maybe possibly happen some day! One scene had me laughing so hard I was crying Channing Tatum slowly realizing that Jonah Hill fucked Ice Cube's daughter and then freaking out and running around. I've also been rewatching The Twilight Zone on netflix. A+ decision.
contiinstereo
I'm a sucker for animated movies. Saw a double feature of How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2 on opening night. Great movie, sequel was done very well. You could tell it wasn't just a cheap cash it. hippielauryn
hippielauryn
I loved the first How to Train Your Dragon. I should really go this weekend and see it in theaters. Glad to hear it's as awesome as I thought it would be.

+hecollec+or
Soooo good. Agreed.... wasn't sure what to expect but it was much better than I anticipated. Not a typical torture porn sadism fest like I figured it would be. Actually had some depth. Even though she had about 10 lines I love Sara Paxton. Everyone in it did an awesome job. The ending was predictable but it was still pretty great.
radiatorhums
I didn't really like Cheap Thrills. It wasn't terrible, but I didn't feel like it brought anything remotely new to the table. I'm not a fan of comedy (using this loosely) that constantly escalate like that, so maybe it just wasn't for me. I do agree the ending was really predictable. Watched The Grand Budapest Hotel a few nights ago and really liked it. It's nice to see him going in a slightly darker direction and losing a bit of the twee (Moonrise seemed to be overkill). I liked how quick the pacing was quite a bit.

noalarmplanet
Is that the fire-fighter movie that also deals with time travel, or am I thinking of something else? You're thinking of Frequency which is indeed an awesome movie.

xadamhudsonx
Watched Robocop last night. I miss the camp of the original. This one took itself far too seriously. Also watched the new 300 last night and wasn't super impressed. Kept me entertained I guess, but didn't grab me as much as the original had. That's damn shame about 300, I was really looking forward to it. I'll still end up seeing it regardless though.

Wasn't a big fan of 300 so I knew Rise of an Empire was going to be just as terrible. Zack Snyder is overrated as a director. Never liked any of his films. Bladewillisisdead
The Dawn of the Dead remake was fantastic. I wanted to hate it so much. I remember sitting in the theater with my arms crossed like "Pffft, you can't remake a classic" But then the first 10 minutes kicked my ass and the rest of the movie just continued being awesome. xadamhudsonx
I thought he did. But that's how assumptions go...... He was listed as a producer, but directed by another guy. The visuals are still cool, I liked that the focus was on a naval battle which was a cool change. But I didn't like them using the wife from the first one a bunch because of her popularity in Game of Thrones. Seemed forced. I also thought they overused the camera techniques that made the first one so much fun to watch when it was new.

I wouldn't need to own it, but I don't feel bad spending the $3.99 to rent it on Amazon. Worth a watch.
