That is the worst board to compare anything to. It's basically a big joke. Everyone who participates either gets 5k posts kissing Ben's ass or get's banned before they get to 100.

I think it's a Screeching Weasel board now. Whatever band isn't fed up with him at the moment I think.

I wasn't saying that's the ideal board that we should strive for (if anything, my earlier post would suggest that the blu-ray.com message board is), I was just saying that making someone post in a thread before doing anything would be a better way of making them aware of things than by making them check a box saying "I will do this, this, and this" (because no one reads those things).  the only experience I have with the riverdales/whatever board is that I went there to try to get the /100 tarantula picture disc :)

Yeah. They made sure it only went to people who had been on their before, though. I signed up after thinking that maybe there would be some more vinyl to pop up. There never was, I got bored of posting there, and I am probably banned for lack of activity.

Love that album, though.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

I like the idea of a waiting period, it doesn't harm either side of the board. N00bz can't post duplicates/questions/etc. without first having to browse the site, but also they can contribute to threads already established. Not saying they do not have anything to offer to us, but regulars are normally updates via twitter/facebook/etc. about new POs, releases, and pressing information, while they actually read threads to post thus found news. This would help them get a "feel" for the boards w/ out the harsh criticizing that fires o' so rampant amongst thus exampled threads ( with myself being a prime suspect.) I'm not opposed to new people, just stupidity.

There are plenty of people <1000 or <500 that I find in good standing of the board, but most are an influx of nostalgic BS "lewkin 4 sw33t h00kupz" and stuff. I can care less about how you had an awesome B-day and finally want to purchase Deja Entendu or even your massive Blink 182 collection that could put a down payment on a house. Whether you want to save $30 from someone or you want to show off your cardboard cut out of Travis Barker (that you praise like Helga in Hey! Arnold.) Skim the boards, maybe you'll get lucky or maybe you'll pay eBay prices.....the world is your oyster, explore it!

Then again SRC main take action, by avoiding all advice given.....and just slap a BS member fee and throw in some zany worthless VIP package.

$5mo. gets you!!! *que drum roll* VIP status to the board, mass spam emails about new releases, a VC exclusive discount code to your inbox, and advanced PO to the Hollywood Undead discog were pressing!! Then again if SRC would do this, it may deter certain people....Hell yea economics! ZOMGAWD soooooo KEWL!!! The problem is that a majority of us regulars are too valuable to the forum to implement this, even if they hired "news" people to report POs and updates several hours later.

We need to assimilate the Andrew Jackson way ;) lawlz

My only two cents is less sub forums. Not less than now, just dont make a whole slew of new ones.

People check the board frequently because it's updated frequently. You start to segment traffic and discussion too much and it starts to feel real static, real fast.

I'm down with splitting FS into a couple categories though. You all are doing a bang up job sorting it out. I'll leave you to it.

Left right isn't very simple to define.

The term "left" in this country has kinda been bastardized, though. It's really "moderate" and "right". The 50s wiped out socialism and communism in this country (pretty much).

Left right isn't very simple to define. No one simple answer.
