MahPah
I'm also searching for a melvins lathe
dawhizz
Maybe this deserves it's own thread, but there's a benefit up for Surfer Blood's Thomas Fedete which features several 1-track lathe Joyful Noise pressings that are 1/1. The GBV is already up to $131 with 9 days to go. I weep for the completists. www.surferblood.com/thomas-auction
lethalenforcer
Can't wait to see how high some of those finish at. I love the idea.
ejc625
I'm a new VIP member I'm looking forward to seeing what all they will have to offer. I hate I missed out on the flexi series. I just ordered Sufjan's flexi he releases via JNR.
dawhizz
Guided By Voices now over $500.
unknown pleasures
Guided By Voices now over $500. The /1 concept is pretty crazy. All it takes is two rabid fans to drive something into the thousands. And a lot of the bands involved, like GBV and YLT, have a lot more than two rabid fans. thepunkguy
um. it's over 1k now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Guided-By-Voices-one-of-a-kind-lathe-cut-7-vinyl-record-/231748627486?hash=item35f54b6c1e:g:-3AAAOSwYHxWQj6~
lethalenforcer
Every single auction was apparently set up incorrectly (prohibited International bids) so they're all being relisted tonight. Ouch.
mameeshkamowskwoz
Is anyone looking for a Buzzo/Brothers Collateral Lathe?I'd definitely be interested in trading mine for something I'd actually listen to frequently.
GermyHewmatt
I just received the Yonatan Gat Physical Copy 10" today. It's so cool! Also, can't wait for the rest of the Tim Kinsella stuff. The email I received from JN the other said everything else should be shipped by years end. JN has to be one of the best record labels to deal with. lethalenforcer
Won the benefit auction for The Drums 7" lathe. So fucking happy, this will easily be my most-prized vinyl and it makes it even better than it was for a great cause. On that note, can anyone recommend any top-notch protection for a 7"? So fucking happy, this will easily be my most-prized vinyl and it makes it even better than it was for a great cause. On that note, can anyone recommend any top-notch protection for a 7"? I would recommend just using a regular white paper sleeve for the lathe and then put that in the clear plastic jacket the lathe comes in. I don't recommend leaving the lathe in the think plastic jacket alone. I've seen those think plastic jackets leave a weird film on records. The white paper sleeve will protect you from that. Good advice, thanks! Do you know of any hard protective cases/sleeves? Don't think I've ever seen one. Not a chest, but like an individual. Yeah, that looks good. Just something to separate the plastic lathe from the plastic jacket. Those two plastics together act like a window cling.
