faithnolife
Jacket isn't flimsy at all. Feels pretty similar to what the "Old Wounds" jacket was. Only flimsy in comparison to "Youth" $15 is still reasonable for a single LP, so no complaints here. But I agree that I have no idea how they managed to sell "Youth" for $15 and turn any sort of profit.
oojavaguru
Here is a picture of all 4. Was pleasantly surprised to see the "Deluxe" was actually in a separate cardboard package with the same logo as the LPs.
Derek™
I'm confused. Isn't the deluxe actually the purple variant with the print, via TRL? And the red was just exclusive to Shirt Killer, right? It wasn't deluxe, just exclusive to a t-shirt bundle. Or am I missing something? Either way, that mailer is legit.

The Cardboard Mailer that houses the Purple LP and the art print (aka "deluxe") is at the top (/100). Then you have the Red Variant (/100 from Shirtkiller with t-shirt), Blue Variant (/100) and Gold Variant (/100).
mcpherson123
So you never opened the box containing the deluxe purple is what you're saying here? Also, I would have really like to get the red if it didn't mean $42+. Why couldn't it just be a different color for $15 on its own like the standard? Derek™
So you never opened the box containing the deluxe purple is what you're saying here? Yeah, that's the part that confuses me, too. I see the red, blue, and gold featured in the photo... but no purple, or a print. What's more is that I thought shipping was a bit delayed on the purple / deluxe, by a few weeks. [edit] Album is so damn good. The guitar tones on this thing are haggard in the best ways possible.
oojavaguru
Sorry guys...I *just* got the package today and rushed to take a picture over lunch before heading back to work.....damn.

I'm not entirely familiar with their catalogue. Would you say on this album, they outdid themselves?
Derek™
It's too early for me to say, but I really like their last album. Up until now, it was my favorite... but this new record is making me question that.
mcpherson123
I really can't wait to spin my LP of this. I listened to most of the advance on Pitchfork and I watched the full live video performance a couple times and remember thinking I was really in for something good but I've got to just lay down and let this thing spin as soon as I get it. radiatorhums
I'm not entirely familiar with their catalogue. Would you say on this album, they outdid themselves? I personally like Old Wounds the best, IAOOYAL is a close second (and seems to be the most popular one on here). I haven't spent enough time with the new album to factor it in though. mattisr1984
Packaging on this one is kinda meh (no cover for the bonus 7"?) but thankfully... This. Album. Is. Fucking. Awesome.
Derek™
This. Album. Is. Fucking. Awesome. Couldn't agree more. Fortunately that's what it boils down to, essentially, and all that matters at the end of the day. (Well, that and the sound quality.) Neanderthal
Yep, been playing it a lot. Put it on at my friends' house last night. One of em came up and asked me, "Is this David dude?". As in, David Eugene Edwards of Wovenhand. Haha, I thought was an awesome correlation, cause I see similarities for sure. Everyone was digging it though. Great times. rtw88
Doomed Moon is a beast of a song. I like this album a ton. It will probably alternate with In and Out of Youth... for my favorite Young Widows album depending on my mood. Easy Pain is more aggressive and noisy. I feel like it's a more realized version of Old Wounds.
drewberinger
I hate myself for sleeping on this pre-order - it happened without me even noticing so fuck me. anyways picked up just the retail black today and sounds so good.
