moodist
Looks like Rhino are putting out 180 gram 2015 remasters of Republic, Get Ready, Waiting For the Siren's Call (2LP) and the compilation Singles (4LP) for a late September/October release date. They're all currently on Amazon (US) for pre-order with the exception of Singles which so far only appears on the Musicdirect website. glass realms
Will be picking up all of these except Siren's Call. i already have an OG press of that. hopefully Singles will have the actual single version of "Run 2" instead of the album version of "Run" from Technique that's always included in all of the previous best of comps. surfingelectrode
Bummer that Substance isn't getting a reissue; it's way better than the Singles comp.

paynegretzky
Awesome! This will be an easy way to complete the studio album collection and, of course, owning Get Ready has been something on my hit list since I started buying records. unknown pleasures
Interesting interview with Peter Hook here: http://diffuser.fm/peter-hook-2017-interview/ Not sure I'd take anything he says at face value, but this is the part that intrigued me: Q: It would make for a fantastic coffee-table book of all those images. A: Warners are doing a collector’s series of the albums, a box set that will be more like that. I got a wonderful present for my 60th birthday which was Led Zeppelin II, complete with all the flyers and gig posters, a vinyl edition – it was wonderfully done, and I took it and showed it to Warner Bros. and said, “This is how our next reissue should be.” You know, really give the fans something to treasure. I'd be thrilled for deluxe issues of the early albums with gig flyers, poster reproductions, promo material, etc... niblips
I would be much more tempted to pick up the reissues to replace my originals if they were filled with extras like that.
youspinmeround
Peter continues to tour like an animal playing multiple albums each night. He is currently doing Substance comps by both bands IMO, beats what New Order is doing live since they dropped that last album Monastic_mike

They were both really solid. NO isn't doing front-to-back albums, but their setlist was heavy on old songs, including quite a few JD ones. Hooky did an "opening set" of just NO songs, then the set proper was both JD studio albums front-to-back. So he beat NO for setlists alone, but his voice doesn't really suit the Bernard material.... He does much better with the Curtis vocals. The ideal combo for me would be the Peter Hook setlists... with Bernard Sumner singing lead on the NO stuff. (Which obviously won't ever happen.) fish
Saw Hook a few months ago doing both Substance albums and it was great. I feel like the New Order songs, other than the real early ones, would have been better if David Potts (from Monaco) was singing them. He did sing 1 or 2 of the songs. But I thought the energy of the show easily beat New Order live even when Hook was still with them.
youspinmeround
I saw NO about 5 years ago and they were solid A setlist.fm search shows that roughly half the sonsg being played now are off the last album
